Guys, stop building your Zerg around rushing. Any decent player can stop a rush, be it a baneling bust or anything else.

Zerg is about macro. You want as much money and as many bases as possible. The longer the game goes on without you being hurt, the worse it is for your opponent.

Try and get as many bases as possible (remember Hatcheries are your unit production centers), make sure you have Queens at every hatch and DO NOT FORGET TO SPAWN LARVA CONSTANTLY.

Remember Zerg is the "swarm", the race just overruns their opponent with sheer numbers. Nobody can make an army as quickly as the Zerg.

I recommend upgraded Hydralisks and Mutalisks, both these are really really strong in large numbers. Honestly if you get your economy and multiple bases up and running, you can basically attack-move your way to victory. You have a massive battle, and both of you lose pretty much your whole army. While the battle is going on, select your hatches, and all your larva, and just pump out another 30 hydralisks or something. Just as you both lose your army, your entire new army arrives. No opponent can keep up with that.

Remember as Zerg you always want to be doing the following:

    1. Outexpanding your opponent and saturating those bases with drones

    2. Spreading your creep all over the map with tumors and overlord vomit

    3. Never forgetting to use spawn larva at all your hatcheries whenever you can

    4. Make sure you have 2 or 3 earlyish queens and get to Lairtech asap - you dont want to be void ray/banshee rushed

    5. During battle, make sure you're macro'ing as well - rebuilding your army as it falls and rallying it to the battle - Zerg is about constant reinforcements

    6. Play for the longer game - Zerg is not about the fast win

    7. Make use of Nydus network and infestors - both are devastating and easy to use

One last thing - scouting as Zerg before you get a Lair is extremely difficult, because most good terran and toss players will wall off their base from scampering zerglings. Be prepared for the void/banshee rush! If you see a toss has walled off with a Forge and a gateway and a couple of cannons - he's probably going quick rays. That early Forge is usually a clue that you can be expecting Rays.

People who think there is a build for protoss to always kill zerg players and vice versa are idiots. You need to understand what units counter other units and use them effectively (micro). if he is turtled up, that allows you to expand and gather more resources and win the game in the long run so you don't need to rush into him. Many protoss players struggle with mass hydras, just a fyi.

I think it is your imagination. Burrowed roaches can't move through buildings.

Personally I figured out how to defeat toss, especially if they go Void as I always go fast Hydra :)

Building Hydra if he goes Air or Mutas if he goes Gateway/Robotics can win many games. If he has not walled off harassing with speedlings works wonders while you wait for your mutas and are building workers in your expansion.

What I cannot figure out is how to defeat Terran. Early victory is really hard with his wall and the later the game goes Terran has the upper hand as his units are more powerful.

Yes you can outbase him but that depends on maps (as he can move around the map easier with easily accessible dropships) and on the harass skill of that player. Anyways, I feel to defeat terran you have to be of higher skill (better APM and more experience). I just wish when I meet a similar skill Terran player I would win once in a while :(

dont stop pushing, if you destroy the first wave hustle over to that base, warp gates have two inherent weaknesses. If you kill the pylon powering them while a unit warps in it is instantly destroyed and the resources arent returned. Units that are in the process of materializing are very very weak, like one or two shots weak so shoot those units before they materialize.

Do you really think so? :p

I mean, ok, we have overlords ... but if you really want a complete scout of his base you will loose those overlords for sure.

I think Zerg is the weakest race when it comes to scouting.

Terran: Scan (not even the risk of loosing a unit) and they can get it very early
Protoss: observer (not that early, that's right) or perhaps even a ground unit, because no Zerg wall ins. Or do you do that? :D

But what do I do as Zerg against Terran or Protoss? Choke is save, so the only possibility is loosing an overlord or later on a mutalisk or stuff like that.

But ... this is just MY opinion. :)

Ok. In my experience of playing Zerg. Protoss isn't that tough to defend from or play offensive against...

You have the ability to scout his/her base until he/she gets there cybernetics core up. When that finally happens just move your overlord outta there base. Once that happens your should know by now what you should have to defend from there first attempt at your base/1st expansion.

I usually play in phases with protoss players and yes most of them I play against follow these phases to a T.

(WHEN UP AGAINST A PROTOSS PLAYER WITH ANY RACE NEVER EVER FIGHT THEM WHERE THERE IS A CHOKE. IF YOU DO IT'S SUICIDE AND YOU WILL ALWAYS LOOSE.) Get them to come out to an open area the best you can or micro your guys well enough to surround them.

Phase 1 = Get your base and your expansion going and get some kind of defense up at your 1st Expansion to defend there first attack. Usually a good thing to put up is some sunkens and some zerglings. If they try to send there troops through the sunkens to run straight up to your base make sure you have a queen there " Since they are so FAT " to block off the zealots from running into your base. With the sunkens zerglings and queen you should be in good shape to defend off their attack if they send a group to your base.. Once all that happens then you want to go into 2nd phase.

Phase 2 = Usually consists of Tier 2 units. So they will probably go collosus/air/ or Immortals If they go with colosus make sure you have corruptor b/c those things are great against collosus and they can also shut down there productions on there buildings also make sure to grab some hydras and roaches as well. Put down some Evo chambers to start upgrading your guys if you haven't done so already. Also if you have alot of minerals coming in then you need to Expand to your 3rd base and whenever you get alot of minerals and you need to get rid of them and you dont have alot of gas coming in don't be afraid to expand out even more. The more expansions you have the more minerals/gas you will get the faster you can out produce your opponent. At this time you should have a pretty good advantage over them send some people out and make sure they haven't been expanding as well. Try to keep an eye on them as much as you can. Knowing what your opponent is doing is probably one of the most important things you can do. Also morph 1 or 2 of your overlords so you can dectect there Observers/Dark Templars. Don't let them keep an eye on you as much as you can. Usually you can push your way to victory in this phase but if you can't then you will go into 3rd phase.

Phase 3 = If you reach this part of the game then you are pretty much just being as aggressive as you can at the same time defending off his attacks. Use your Nydus network to jump from base to base and keep his army running around and just wear him down. Remember you are zerg you can out produce any opponent. If they do kill your army you should have enough Hatchery's and Expansion by now that you can just reform you army in a matter of seconds. Just make sure you keep your spawn larva's going up from your queens and dropng your creep across the map so your units can move 30% faster. It makes a big difference.

I hope this helps you out if you have any more question just ask. Im not a pro with zerg by all means but I have learned alot from some of the better players of this game. Thanks for your time :D

I've been early doom dropping (dropping units in his main) lately, and its been working out great, while im killing his workers and his tech buildings and him trying to defend me, I am also attacking his entrance.

    been working great so far.
