Zerg Vs The Flood(Halo Series)

Yes but the Gravemind did that by using the warp systems that already existed on th halo

 

If the flood managed to spread far enough though... I think the starcraft universe would be majorly doomed. I mean if they managed to infest just one small terran outpost it would'nt take long for them to form a gravemind and begin moving from planet to planet. All they need is some battlecruisers and seige tanks to be able to break through protoss shields and they'd end up with aload of assimilated protoss tech on them.

But yea, would be interesting to see how the zerg and flood would treat eachother, they're really alike; the zerg being toughest but the flood being able to multiply and assimilate technology fastest.

The big question of course is 'are zergs sentient?'. I'm not too sure at this one because they're controlled more or less constantly by the cerebrates... Maybe if a flood got to a cerebrate like a previous poster said then the s**t would really hit the fan for the starcraft universe...

So, in my opinion if the flood actually managed to spread far enough there would be no killing ALL of them, all it takes is one of those little brain bugs to infest a planets worth of life and so, based on no evidence whatsoever I believe that eventually the flood would consume enough to conquer the entire universe and infest all life with in it . :thumbup:

 

The flood couldn't stop one person. Alone. In the middle of their HQ.
They can't pilot something without it crashing. On top of that, they need a host. Worse, if their target is airborne, they can't do jack. On top of that, don't forget they have to get through the skin to infect something. A human, or other soft body organisms would be easy. Skin that can take a nuclear blast? Not so much. Burrow would also pose problems, since they lack tunneling abilities, as far as I know. Plus, I see no reason why Gravemind can't be infected himself.

The only thing going for them is the slim chance they could infect Kerrigan or a celebrate. This can be solved by getting into an overlord.

Oh yeah, and there are also a lot of them.

And now I feel stupid for getting involved...

 

Hmm... Maybe Master Cheif vs the Zerg would be a fairer fight then?

Its hard to judge how strong his armor is though, but when ya compare it to that of a terran marine I think MC will most likely get sliced in half by a zergling within two minutes of being in the battle.

 

Having played and loved starcaft and having played through all 3 halo games i would say the zerg would slaughter the Halo 1 flood and most likely defeat the Halo 2 flood. But the Halo 3 flood are alot stronger and would probally provide an equal challenge. It would all come down what the Flood can infest and what they get a chance to infest.

The flood can infest stuff way faster but the zerg can use infested units more effectively.

I personally would say the Halo 3 flood would beat the zerg unless Kerrigan could up with some really creative plan to fight back because there is no doupt in my mind that the flood could infest the zerg units because the zerg where originally living creatures and still are even though they are apart of the swarm.

 

The Flood are capable of infesting any creature with sufficient biomass and cognitive capability as evident in the Halo Graphic Novel. The Flood were able to infest all the creatures in the hunting grounds making new flood types.

But to be honest, there is really no definitive way to compare the two in a fight, both races have a centralized command structure (Overmind, Kerrigan, and the Gravemind.) Also both races utilize infestation in different degrees, The Zerg assimilate only the creatures at the top of their food chain where as the Flood make use of all to either make combat forms, carrier forms, or pure forms. They also seem to revive deceased bodies. The Zerg also have creatures capable of aerial assault whereas the Flood have none.

Yea but they had to shove kerrigan in a tube for days... The flood can infest you and claim all your thoughts and memories in seconds.

 

Kerrigan was a different story. She's the strongest Zerg that ever existed, you can't expect her to pop out of nowhere like the rest.

 

I just think the floods too virulent to kill off without some kinda superweapon, it only takes one brainbug to rebuild an entire swarm.

 

The zerg would destroy them. Zerg has units like the defiler which would kill thousands of the flood in seconds, ultralisks which would easily take down dozens alone, not to mention fliers which would be able to single handedly stop all of them since they can't touch air.

 

I think most people who have posted in support of the zerg so far havnt played halo 3 otherwise they would half of the things said about the flood so far is false. I say this having played every halo game and still liking starcraft more.

 

I personally would say...ZERG! , I have and own both halo and starcraft and the halo serie's is just a ripoff IMO and don't flame and I am not trying to troll and anyway the zerg have more number's , stronger , smarter , more scary and more popular

 

What does popularity have to do with it. Marines are gonna cheer on them?

Actually in halo 3 they have these weird wall-walking flood that shoot spines at people, also they can utilise any weapon they find so if they take some terran weaponry they can easily take down air units.

 

There's little terran weaponry on char ^^
