Zerg toad.

/\ don't many toads have poison sacks for self defense? And poison tree frogs as well?

The unit could spray some quick acting poison or acid as primary damage with ensnare as secondary ability with a slow recharge.

Also, toads not very zerg like as zerg have more of an insect feel... but still, it would be a nice addition. And -lLTl- you might not like toads, but this unit would make for a great zerg base raider.

 

Zerg toad is going to kill its own race of ugly over grown bug nation.

I'd say so.. its like it's own chain of units but what would you call the next ones?
I'd be disappointed if they called one megalisk or something like that.

people, i love thinking of new ideas, but i know blizzard is not gonna implement any of them, so i think new units shouldnt be posted in the starcraft2 forums but rather on space junk

/\ it sure is strange... but that is one of my favorite series . And while it may not get put in the game by blizzard, at least someone is still out there thinking up new concepts. It will be interesting to see what people have brainstormed here versus what new units actually are introduced for the zerg.

yes, but i was thinking of this kind of scenario: (or something similar)

imagine a situation where a science vessel is terrorizing your burrowed units by detecting them (such as lurkers) and thus making them fodder for nearby siege tanks, this would be bad, right? So, in order to counter this, (ive assumed that no missile turret or any other detectors are in the immediate vicinity) you then use a zerg toad to snatch that annoying science vessel and by the use of lets say... Hydralisks that wait near the toad, the spaceship is KABOOM. (hydralisks should always be out of seige tank's range)

Now. if we were to use this kind of unit mix (Lurkers, hydralisk support, a toad or two, dont forget the overlord)...

VOILA. INSTANT MOBILE FORTRESS.

And cheap, too. assuming that the toad costs less than a mutalisk (being non-attack capable and all)- this kind of defense may be good early in the mid-game.(im not a fan of rushes... bite me) This means we could secure an area for minerals, gas or simply for harassing your phriends. FUN FUN FUN
