From what we've seen on one of the gameplay videos, Queen is rather slow, especially compared to other Zerg units (Jon could confirm if this is true)

It has the Burrowing ability, which would help it get from A to B much quicker. It does cost minerals though, so you might be able to spam it (if it has no cooldown), but it'll be expensive to do so.

No, I heard otherwise: that moving from one place to another is free of both mana and minerals, and only has a 15 second cooldown. Might be mistaken, but it would make sense. I think only building structures cost minerals, and only casting spells cost mana, such as enchanting buildings to attack, poison creep and repair.

    Re: Zerg Queen

Right, the queen doesn't spend anything to use deep tunnel. Her only restriction is that she needs to deep tunnel directly to a zerg building.

This makes me wonder if infested buildings will count but I highly doubt that.

both are ture, in queen form deep tunneling cost minerals and no cooldown, but once upgraded to a lair watcher it cost no minerals and has a 15 sec. cooldown.

The queen isnt a killer, she a defender, and i think you will need to hide her, if you dont want her to be killed...

How is she not a killer? Her final form has 600 life and does 24 damage a hit to ground and doing 48 damage to air units. She's even stronger than an ultralisk.

Hiding her would be a waste, she should be in an offencive defensive position, being near the front of your bases defenses. With some unit support, it would be nearly impossible for her to die. And if she gets weak, just deep burrow to a save location in your base.

The queen shouldn't be hid. It is a unit that should be used to defend a base not only with its structures it can build but also with its above average attack and health.

Even if they killed your queen, you should still have swarm clutches in your base. It would make sense to build a few before sending your queen into battle, just like how in sc1 you would send drones to try to build a few sunkerns before they reached your mineral line.

So, even if your queen dies, your base shouldn't be completely defenseless.

No, but early game (when the enemy rushes with a few zealots (3-5) and you have no base-defenses), I would risk her, because if she died, it will take awhile before you have a new queen. And that momentum could be enought to make the rush succesfull

Tech rush to Roaches while your Zerglings hold off the Zealots then.

I love the new queen, just saying. The name fits now. She's like the zerg's mother, watching over her children.

A cool ability would be if she could drop a few extra larva for a small amount of mana (only on creep) to speed up unit production in an emergency. Queen larva would probably mutate faster too.

that queen kept dying because it moves so slow and the zerg guy kept trying to run away with it from the zealots, which were much faster than it.
