Yet, it's not completely instant. I bet you would still be able to attack her during the .5 seconds she is burrowing, similar to how you could attack the lurker while it was burrowing in sc1.

I like the idea of the queen now, it is a defence unit and is not a useless floater. I also like how it is the source of all of the zergs stationary defences, so if i kill it, my chances go up 50% against a player. the thing i dont understand is, when the queen dies, do her defensive structures die as well ???

@DevourinOne the sunken was perfectly named, it did not need to be beefy as it was under ground. He spore colony is the same as all it had was spores of some attacking type, so the defence that should be beefy is underground, and the one that shouldnt be isnt

I think the defenses stay in place currently though that be an intersting game mechaninc for zerg. It would also force the zerg to protect their Queen even more.

As far as I know, the defence structures survive even if the queen dies.

The structures are not depending on the queen to survive, so losing her doesn't/shouldn't affect them.

If her being in the base is required for thier survival, logically they would die if she deep tunneled to another base since she is no longer present at the other base.

It would also make the zerg REALLY dependent on the queen for defense more so than they are now. So i doubt BLIZZARD will add this effect in.

No new information on the queen's abilities or stats, but the OP has been re-coded to look better, and stats are colorcoded to replace the table code not working.

Most likely all stas are outdated, but until new information can be found, they will remain as is. If you find any current information, plz tell me.

I haven't read anything that's said that the Spore Colony is a detector in StarCraft2. To the best of my knowledge, and I may be wrong, but the Shrieker is still in the game and acts as the detector, and that they are mutated from Creep Tumour, like how Banelings are mutated from Zerglings, etc. I also haven't read anything conclusive that says that the Swarm Clutch has been removed, but with the reintroduction of the Sunken and Spore Colonies, chances are that they probably have.

i think they said that the Shriekers and the Swarm Clutch were both taken out so the Spore and Sunken colonies can come back.

not really positive about that tho

I think the Swarm Clutches might have been, but they never told us that directly. The Creep Tumours definitely weren't and the Shriekers were evolutions of them, so seeing as they never told us that Shriekers were, nor did they tell us that Spore Colonies are still Detectors, I think it's pretty safe to assume they're still in. At least until we get some confirmation.

I hope they stay to add a new level to the zerg defense, and also so that zerg doesn't have to sacrifice workers to build defensive structures.

If there must be just ONE queen, overpowered, in a Zerg base of course the enemy(ies) will have to concentrate their attacks on her. She will be the priority. The main target. So one thing the Zerg player will have to think about everytime : protect the queen, and create a solid defence for her.

So the player will have to spend his ressources in defense first, and surely if he has no more resources he will not be able to attack his enemy(ies).

So according to me the role of the unique queen is great, frankly. But if the queen is a problem for the player, she must also be the best unit of the Zerg too, in compensation. So I suggest to give her a lot of extra powers, and abilities. She must be THE super unit of the Zerg !

I suggest for her to burrow and then to move underground, like the infestor does. Can she already move underground ?

She must be the worst worrying thing for the Zerg player, and also the best unit for the player.

    One thing I notice :

The Zerg have a super unit that must be built early in the game, the queen. She must be expensive and get super powers.
The Protoss have a super unit that must be built later in the game, the mothership. Expensive and powerful.

What for the Terran ? Who is the super unit ? The Thor ?

She can Deep Tunnel to any structure her side owns (even across the map). See the Queen for more details.

Blizzard has an odd definition of "super unit"; last we heard, even the Mothership doesn't match that definition.

From actual play experience, people who have used the Queen have not called her a super unit, as she is not particularly powerful. The Queen you can get early in the game isn't that expensive and is fairly weak overall (although she has a decent number of hit points). You "advance" her by spending resources and meeting certain building requirements. The late game Queen is as powerful as an Utralisk, but costs much more and is more important, so sending her to attack enemy bases is pointless.

Blizzard has explicitly said the Queen is not a super unit.

By player definition (although not Blizzard definition), Motherships are super units.

Terrans do not need a super unit, any more than Zerg need a "capital ship". When the Mothership was originally released (way back at the beginning), we were told that neither the Zerg nor Terrans would get super units and they didn't need them.

The Thor, while powerful, is not a super unit. They are meant to work in small groups.

The new Queen has weaker stats, and no longer builds base defenses.

Her abilities have changed somewhat too, but not by much. Otherwise, not much has changed.

I know that, what I need is a site with the info or proof. Also, I need names of the new abilities she has and thier affects and cost.

And I think base defences going back to the drone was a bad idea. I always had terrible economy with zerg simply because half the drone I build would always have to be morphed into something(sunkerns, more hatcheries, tech buildings, etc). Her ability to build defense was the only reason I saw the queen as actually useful this time.

Queens were crap in SC1, they were my least used ability caster in SC. I even used protoss DAs more often that zerg Queens.

The queen is so awsome! I think she should have decent life though, and she should be able to make biuildings(certain ones of course). The queen is a good unit, but i though it had low hp. They should give it some more purposes too. it sounds like its only defense. If they give her special attacks, like the high templar, she woul be very useful in fights. They should of also kept its bulilding ability, so you don't have to waste more drones, 'cause once you think about it, if you have other units able to build the buildings, you'll end up getting more minerals 'cause you aren't wasting drones.
