    Baneling is different because it evolved from a zergling not a natural creature, it's going to have some things left from what it evolved from, claws just happen to be what stuck with the baneling. Again they wouldn't have mouths if they didn't have to eat. Given what creep is they could probably absorb it instead of ingest it. They don't need their mouths for communication because they do it the way the Protoss do, through telepathic messages. (except for Kerrigan of course) There is a reason that they have a mouth just like humans, if they didn't they would look more like the protoss in which they don't have mouths, obviously.

    Mouth for zerg is designed for killing... maybe they eat whatever they can bite off from their enemies...

    Agreed in which case they still eat the corpses of their enemies. It makes the most logical sense for creatures like zerg.

    i never saw them eat ground?
    I also never saw them devour the blood of the enemies or take a bite while fighting?
