Char wasnt the only zerg planet, but the capital was the only one mentioned. its possible that they still have other planets (Aiur for example) under their control.

and there is a current population of about 6 billion on this planet. with room for more.

actually not much more room. But i think that's a salient point.

But what have they been eating? They said in the blizzard demo that those humans would just serve as food for the swarm. Have their been people eaten by the swarm? If so, they're not laying that low.

I have never seen a Zerg unit actually eating a Terran corpse before...They kill Terran/Protoss but never have they been shown eating those corpses.

it's hard to fight when one is stuffed with partially digested human organs.

well they certainly consume a lot of it in gameplay (man some of the units are vespene heavy). But vespene gas is probably not so filling. Also, again, the gameplay vid by blizzard said that the humans will only serve to feed the swarm. I judge by that that they need food other than just green gas.

they could have meant feed the swarm metaphorically, like the swarm is a huge beast, and the slain terrans could be infested (fed) to make the beast of the swarm larger.

i just think that its possible that a little line was simply a mistake to the lore and the actual meaning could be a metaphor. to make it fit.
