Your favorite movies...

The last 30 minutes of return of the king is boring. I just turn it off after the eagles carry them away.
Oh and if the eagles kicked the Nazgul's combined asses when they were on those dragon things and make it all the way to mount doom and back out why didn't they just fly in with someone carrying the ring, drop it in the volcano, and fly out. Simple as pie.

 

bad taste? you got to be kiddin. here il explain it to you. thats why some people are called star wars fan etc. you disagree about lotr. OSCAR was a fan of the lotr trilogy. i just like adventure and scifi and mostly fictional and fantasy movies. just look at your list, .. lord of war? iv'e seen almost all of your fave movies (i like them and the story and message is great, but if i had to pick the BEST movie i will based it on the ENTERTAINMENT and FUN factor and not the story not the realism factor or anything else. i mean i would not be entertained by lord of wars or gangs of newyork etc the 10th time i will see it, i will be bored to death. and lotr owns all, great movie great story great acting great special effects etc. its the best! its not bad taste cause i know what kind of movies you like, its just that we based it on different things. how come revenge of the sith is a bad taste? its the best star wars movie ever, and if your a starwars fan it should be on your top 10 list. as you can see some of your movie are also my faves, batman begins? now bad taste. i think you just picked movies from my list that you don't like. lord of the rings bad taste? now you must be out of this world. peace

I didn't say every movie in your list was bad. I was commenting on those specifically. My list wasn't in any particular order. And all of my favorites are great movies that will last through the ages. And if you read my other post you will see that I like LotR but it's not so amazing that it should be on top. The first hour of Fellowship of the Ring is god-awful boring and the last 30 minutes of Return of the King is god-awful boring.
Judging from your movie selection and what you think is just so amazing I would guess that you are around 14-16 years old.
And again, the three new star wars movies sucked hard.

Seriously, that line is so amazingly bad it's not even funny. I hang my head in shame when I even hear that. And Ewan McGregor is actually a good actor. It's just that this movie is so terribly bad it makes everyone in it do incredibly poorly.

 

The most recent star wars movies were so over-blown in terms of special effects it seems as though the script was a hasty add-on. Episodes IV to VI were awesome cause back then Lucas was an underdog, the first one was close to having the plug pulled, but the recent ones he was just riding the fame of the first three and doing whatever the hell he could add in to make the trailer's look really cool. Zeratul11's list seems to be comprised entirely of movies created in the last 7-10 years, with a few exceptions, I think you need to see some older films and get a better scope of things. I do like LOTR, but there's a bit of a bias, cause (as I'm from New Zealand and Peter Jackson hired like half of the country for the film) my dad helped build some of the set for it. Like the trebuchet's used in the siege. Those kicked ass. I love Kubrick films. Dr. Strangelove is soooo funny! The obssession with bodily fluids...fantastic stuff

 

I find it mostly amusing that Patric Stewart, who played/plays Doctor Xavier in X-men also played/plays Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Ok, if you don't find that amusing, then what about the Star Trek/X men crossover novels and comics? Like Planet X? Or the one that shows both Dr X and Picard face to face?!

sigh.... great more PT h8s I mean dont get me wrong there are some screw ups with the prequals but just because of a few badlines and such things as the "jar jar thing that needs to die" dosnt mean you just erase them from your mind and say meh just my $.02 tho

im 22, guess im immature. wait lotr was not made for kids. it was made for people who knows and aprreciate a lot of things specially the imaginative and creative ones.

what is it exactly that you dont like about star wars episode 1 2 and 3? the story? dialogs? the humor? first the special effects was overwhelming, and the story was fine, it tells the story of anakin and how he became darth vader (what story could be better?). i can't imagine what more can they possibly do about the scenes in the movie. revenge of the sith is a stand out among the rest of the star wars, its way serious and dark than all the other star wars movies and they made an outstanding job on the story, plot, settings, lines, actions etc. and how anakin turn into the dark side, what could be better than that. i think episode 3 revenge of the sith is the best star wars ever. In a new hope, they blew up half of the death star easily with only few x wing fighters trying to get their beams inside and the death of obi wan was like... ha? (the script was bad i think).

ok il try to watched more older movies. i like some old movies but i just can't place them on the same caterogy of lord of the rings etc. wow! you must be extremely proud of yourself and your father. I'm a big fan of lotr, i wish i was part of it (even just an extra, crew, contributor etc.) or just anyone i know was part of it. i wish i lived in new Zealand too so i will know where hobbiton is.

yeah i don't necessarily agree with zeratul11's posts all the time but just catching up on what's been said, I'm surprised this hasn't come up before.

what's the point in criticizing peoples' movie tastes other than to be rude and gang up on them? it's not like you're going to make them all of a sudden change their tastes just to adhere to your opinions

 

about the oscars.. it's mainly a money thing.. and.. if they choose this movie or that movie.. it's because they have to choose between the movies that were made this year... which means.. you gotta choose between a bunch of crap.. because most of the recent stuff is pure crap made for teh $.
