Read Ender's Game then Ender's Shadow then the rest of the Speaker books. They're really good, especially the first two.

if you like books that are addictive to read, but contain many many many many plot holes, heroes that are as bad if not worse than the heroes without the writer realizing it and bad logic, I reccomend anything by kevin J anderson.

Seriously it's hilarious. He has trade princes that only care for money complain that the Hansa only cares for money and as a writer he obviously agrees with that. He has 'the good guys' bombarding a world because it contained a certain species. This was done during the peace negotiations with that species. In a war that had cost their side 20 lives. Bombarding a planet. To avenge 20 lives. And a gas giant at that. Also 'the good guys' refusing to share their more efficient engines, even while the Hansa is starving to death because of the lack of fuel production due to the war. They than get angry when the Hansa start hogging the fuel.

Still very entertaining. Rant-worty, but entertaining.

    Guys. Hey. Guys.

You all should read the following if you haven't:

Dune (Frank Herbert) - It's seriously the most in depth world I've ever seen, even possibly including RPG settings like D&D or WH40K. The guy has entire histories laid out, a massive political system, a myriad of different cultures (even among the same race, as it were). Fantastic.

Anthem (Ayn Rand) - One of my favourite books, and one of the best by Ayn Rand (If you want, you can TRY to read Atlas Shrugged, but that book can stop bullets).

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Brian Adams) - If you've never read this, wtfm8. If you thought the movie was lame, good, cause it was. This is classic British comedy at its finest. The entire series is the best five book trilogy in existence.

His Dark Materials series (Phillip Pullman) - Again, don't let the movie put you off. It's a nifty intro to quantum mechanics wrapped in a fairly interesting tale of parallel universes.

Collected works of HP Lovecraft - Disclaimer: If you see almost anything horror after reading this, you'll realize it's all a rip off of Lovecraftian horror (don't even try to tell yourself WoW is original after reading).

The Hobbit (JRR Tolkien) - LotR is definitely good, but I find the Hobbit to be so much more enjoyable.

Course, that's just me. Take what you will from it.

The hobbit more enjoyable than LotR?

I read quite a few among those and the rest is at my house, with the exception of the his dark materials series, so i'll see if I like 'em sometimes.

Only one I haven't read is HP Lovecraft's works from that list. And yes, The Hobbit was more enjoyable than LotR. WHAT'S EVERYBODY'S FAVOURITE BOOKS?!
