Will SC2 be Ready for Release in 2009?

  1. Actually, it's both. Interviews and such clearly demonstrate this. Of course, the "blame" rests more on the Battle.net 2.0 portion but it's not like there haven't been ANY changes recently. Just look at the HSM.

What are the problems with BNet 2.0 I have not seen anything on it. Could anyone link me some info?

Starcraft might be a "finished" game in the sense that it's playable, but with the huge pro-gaming audience that has its hungry eye on this game, they better take as long as they want in order to make sure every unit is balanced for serious competitive play--that's where I feel the development's going. That, and minor things like graphic choices, ui, and of course, battle.net implementation. I really hope the new battle net is something ground-breaking and pulls a lot of ideas from steam and xbox live, do it blizzard style. Battle net's super confining atm.

I would truly <3 to see it going the way XBL is now. Having contacts/friends lists, easy portal things etc. That would be almost perfect.

When I log into b.net, I always have the feeling of being alone there, even while there are tens of thousands of people are online. XBL feels more like a community. But that could also be caused by that damn paid membership.

  5. Many services like Xbox Live and such copied Battle.net so I assume if Blizzard is to live up to their name then Battle.net 2.0 will be something that the next generation of XBL/PSN/Whatever the hell the WIi has/Stream will copy.
