The main difference between you and the hackers is that you've read the EULA, and they haven't. Yes, ignorance can be bliss.

I hate dota. It is impossible to learn because they do that stupid thing where they check your IP address and try to see if you lag and they ban you if they don't recognize your name because you haven't played 10,000,000,000 times. The dota crowd are not supportive and ask you to leave if you don't play very well because you are just starting to like it. "omg that playa sux he is a feeeder man stupid. leave play another game pleezz!" Stupid dota cultists... (no offense to any dota players here. This has just been my experience with it)

I could go on and on about how much I hate dota, but hackers are worse. They are the scum of battlenet. I hate that they can't just play and have a good time and follow the rules like the rest of us. We all like the game, so why must we cheat so much?!?! UGH!

    Makes me mad...

ANYWAY, I am sure that this is one of Blizzard's top priorities. They no doubt hate seeing their games abused by hackers and cheaters. I trust that they will do everything they can to stop the hacking.

They created the game especially for competitive multiplayer. I'm sure that they'll have some groundbreaking solution that nobody's ever thought of for this, just like in everything else they do.

    People DO buy gold.

I think blizz used to periodically watch games, but the smart map hacker will feint scouting.
I gotta agree with those of you who believe a punkbuster style program is key.

yeah, but buying gold isnt that bad, you dont ruin other peoples gameplay, even if you buy gold, you still need a good techinique in multiplayer

Views on if buying gold is bad or not is another discussion for another day. My point was that Blizz considers buying gold very bad, actively pursue offenders, bans their accounts. Yet people still buy gold with the risk of loosing not just their CD key but the chars the have poured literal days of their lives into.
The punishment is rarely a deterrent, much like what those in my political camp will tell you about the death penalty. Those who commit the crime do it on the pretense that they will not be caught. (Lets not turn this into a debate about the death penalty though.)

I'm stressing that something like punkbuster is needed if you wish to eliminate hacking 90-100%.

Meh I hope they will integrate a some kind of anticheat like punkpuster or VAC2. Normally even if a cheat stop works after a patch been released not much time pass for another cheat to be "published"...

No way ! Blizzard should keep the cheat codes. Especially for the solo campaign. But is it possible to cheat in multi-player ?

Think so... there should be addons or hacks (dunno how clal) that not only show you the entire map of the enemy but can give you addictional resources...
