I phrased my first post as a sarcastic suggestion, this time I will pose my post as questions since there is a fundamental issue you have to address before even beginning to make strategy comparisons.

What league were you placing in during beta, at what rank, and with how many games (win/loss ratio)?

In the replays you watch, what league are the players in, what rank, and with how many games (win/loss ratio)?

It's still easy to defend off 8 pool rush. For Zerg, drones and zerglings can defend it, Protoss can just chrono boost gateway and get 1 zealot, and terrans would have blocked off their choke by the time you finished 8 pool and rushing.

And honestly, getting 6 zerglings at once means that you're sacrificing the larva for drone production which undoubtedly hurts your econ a lot. It pretty much means that you're effing up your macro for that early rush which against pros, will fail.

That is pretty much all the reason why pros stick with not rushing and sticking with standard builds.

Actually this tactic does have some merit same as early zealot harass as toss against zerg has merit.

I would say this guy may be up to something. The trick is just to be good enough to macro at the base while not losing these first 6 lings and doing some damage and forcing the other guy to build troops/defensive buildings.
You are also messing with the other guys build order and attack plans and timings.

Don't forget, this also means you have map control. You can keep him from scouting you.
This can also be used to get to fast mutas while your opponent is expecting mass lings and stuff.
