    The hydra should be back. It's the core unit of the zerg. If they remove it, it's almost as bad as removing the drone.

    Hydralisk, Lurker, Guardian, Scourge, Defiler. for me

    Hydralisk because its so flexible. the Lurker for it was very useful. Guardian for its seige capabilities. Scourge because they are suicidal. Defiler because they eat all my useless zerglings.

    Zergling,Hydralisk,Lurker,Mutalisk and Devourer

    Zerglings because,well,we have seen them already.Hydralisks because i think blizzard would have to be somewhat crazy to not bring them back.Lurkers because they evolved from the Hydralisks,and were very useful.Mutalisks because they are everyone's favorite flying alien beast,and Devourers because i simply loved them.

    I hate people who give sh** to Ultralisks and Queens. They are units that are great FOR THEIR ROLE! The people who always just say that they're crap, too expensive, waste of time, can't do their job properly, (most of the time) are NOT USING THEM CORRECTLY! The Ultralisk is designed to take the brunt of the damage, fullstop! They shouldn't be behind all of your Zerglings and Hydralisks because then the Zerglings and Hydralisks would be taking the damage. Another thing people say about the Ultralisk is that they're weak and struggle against lots of little units. This is true, because, they are not meant to be taking on those types of units on their own They need backup or support, like Hydralisks and Zerglings as long as the Ultralisk is taking the damage. Guardians and Mutalisks do not work as effectively because the opponent will just run it's guys through directly to your Hive/Base.
    Also, People often say the Queens have suck-y abilities, but again, it is only because they are not used properly. Infest Command Centre is great for quickly finishing off their Command Centre if you wouldn't otherwise have enough power to finish it off. Ensnare can split up enemy attack forces either slowing them down and giving you a lot more time, or by when only Ensnaring half their incoming force, make it come in two waves. Ensnare can also detect Cloaked units, and give the Queen a quick get-away if it's being chased. Spawn Broodling should not be used as a main attack, just to slowly wear away at, and harass your opponent, and their forces. Parasite can be used very well with Spawn Broodling, a fully upgraded Queen has enough energy to do both on one Broodling run, and often, because the opponent is focused on the unit that's been Broodling'd as well as chasing down the Queen, they don't notice that you have a spy in their base!

    Anyway, I chose Zergling, Hydralisk, Mutalisk, Queen and Ultralisk. These are all classic and iconic Zerg units (especially Zergling), and assumed that Drone and Overlord were already given.

    I still believe that the new interface will make Scourges and Queen much more useful.

    1-Drone;
    2-Zergling;
    3-Hydralisk;
    4-Mutalisk;
    5-Queen;
    6-Scourge;
    7-Overlord;
    8-Lurker;

    I do love the Ultralisk, but the problem is that it's mobility and melee attack would be too much of a burden with the new terrain crossing units. And the Defiler had too low HP, being targeted (and killed) by Siege-tanks before able to do anything good. Perhaps if they replace one of the Queen abilities with Dark Swarm...

    You should have given us more number of choices. But I chose Zergling, Hydra, Drone, Overlord, and Mutalisk. Pretty much all the ones we've seen and the ones that are essential for Zerg.

    And take out a Siege-tank. Or High Templars. Or targeting Ghosts. And WILL be very usefull to take out Immortals, since Zergs don't have Nomads to use EMP shockwave and remove their shields.

    EDIT: Try parasiting an Observer! Huge pain for the Protoss.

    Immortals will be countered easily enough with Zerglings and possibly Hydras.

    I know fast hitting units can counter them. However, you most likely will need banelings to counter Colossi, as Colossi kills zounds of Zerglings in seconds and have a huge HP. If you place Immortals and Colossi together, Immortals soak the baneling dmg, while Colossi kills incoming zerglings.

    The Queen can dispatch Immortals with SB and goo the Colossi so they can't run from banelings. Hydras and zerglings would fall prey to the Colossus. There won't be only groups of one kind of unit. And the Colossus would make a deadly combo with Immortals.

    True. If Scourges are still around they can kill the Colossus. But add a few Phoenixes to it: overload takes care of whatever is on air, no matter how many, if you pack enough Phoenixes... ok, I know I'm exaggerating! ;D

    Phoenixes would take down Queens too.

    Yeah, that's true. In the end it just boils down to your micro and macro.

    If you use air units then the Colossus/Immortals can just run back to their base. And Queens can Ensnare Phoenixes so that they can't catch up with them.

    ensnare will be much more useful in sc2 in combination with banelings
