I will play the campaign for sure. Its the first place where you will get in touch with the units, counters etc.

Campaign as it will help me get a "feel" of the new units and beacause i want to find out what happens in the story.

 

I will play the campaigns first because the campaigns in SC were where I actually learned how to play. I also want to see what happens in the story, and just going online may spoil the plot. Once I make it though the campaigns, I will play some games with the computer to test it out, and then eventually proceed to online play.

 

i was serious about the apm thing with the skirmish. But no I don't play wc3 I play C&C, DOW, and rise of nations mostly. But i did used to play alot of sc and I pwned at it .

 

I'll learn the basics in campaign first. How to use units the most effective way possible.

Then I'll take my pwnage to b.net

 

Well when I first get it ima cross my fingers and move all smashable/throwable objects away incase my pc or laptop can't handle sc2.

Personally I would play a few rounds on LAN network with and or against computers and then move to the campaign. Then I would eventually go to battle.net and then get schooled by all those crazy people out there like me

 

I don't understand all the people out there that say they won't do online multiplayer. I wouldn't even play this game if it didn't have online because thats what made the old game so awesome. First I will look at the editor to see the cool unit selection and the way it works, then I will campaign it up. Even though the campaign isn't my reason for buying an RTS game, it still is fun to play. After that I will try to find a strength and weakness to exploit online.

 

noone said that they wont do multiplayer, they said they wont start with it

 

The first thing I will do is buy the game, then open the box, then play the campaign. No one mentioned that they would open the box! I don't think it will work right unless you open the box.

 

Actually, I will simply bask in the glory of the box design for several years.

It makes sense to play through the campaigns first, since they will undoubtedly be the best teacher of game mechanics, at first. Being repeatedly owned on battle.net isn't always a learning experience; sometimes it is just downright frustrating.

 

Only the box design? I am going to take a picture of the Walmart I buy it from from seventeen different agles then I will reconstruct it so I can relive the past for several months, and continue every now and then, since I can't buy a new Starcraft from Walmart for fifty dollars a day. THEN I will start playing Starcraft.

Edit: Ohhhh!! That would be kick ass but impossible. Where would the other players start? In your base? Sharring the same mienerals?

 

probably try the campaign, not finish it completely, then move on to b-net. I really just like the campaign to get back into the basics of gameplay. Now if the campaign seems to be really fun, like i think it will be! of course i will finisht it, although at the same time i will be working on improving my skirmishes online and vrs computer

 

As others have said if the campaign has a starting tutorial showing off each unit Ill do that, otherwise I'm first going to hop in against the computer and just mess around with the new units.

 

I will start off dancing around. First I'll dance to the campaign and learn what becomes of the beloved sc universe, then I will probably dance about between the map editor and bnet to get a feel for what potential UMS maps have in SC2, probably wont get a great idea at that point, but doesn't matter. I'll find out when the really smart map makers start to understand the editors fully .
