Im gonna love this unit, It has lots of strategic potential, and some are already coming to my mind.

I have few questions about it tho.
Can it plant anywhere or just in the creep?
Is it still build from a drone?

This unit + Creep plant give the zerg lots of new defensive and offensive strats :)

they can only be planted in Creep, they do not produce creep, so you cant plant them at the edge making the creep go forward, then uproot them and repeat.

yes it is built from the Drone

lol, i was most certain that you would answer that question XD

Anyways, last Q.. What would happen if a planted Spine Crawler's creep go back, as in the hatchery or whatever was "creeping" it died.

Would the Spine unroot or explode in a shower of blood?

every building would slowly lose health then die, im just not sure if the Spine/Spore crawlers would continue to lose health if they go into walking mode. most likely it will continue.

Nah, I dont think so.. I mean, It can walk outside normally without losing health. Maybe when you unborrow, the health lose stops.. The thing is that it moves awfully slow outside the creep.

When uprooted, it doesn't take damage when off creep, but its hp and armor is reduced.

Yup, it's extremely slow off the Creep, and un-upgraded Zergling speed on Creep. It can't attack, it's HP drops from 300 to 100 when uprooted, and it will only lose HP when rooted without the Creep! So protect those peeing Overlords and innocent Creep Tumors :)

you know, everone is saying how units are slow of creep

well really anything without much speed gose really slow of creep.

What the big deal anyway. what would you use a slow unit for in SC1?

They're not slow off of the Creep, they're slower. That doesn't mean they're slow.

And there were a tonne of slow units in StarCraft1, and they were usually the most powerful ones, as well.

The spine/spore crawler should be able to go through nydus networks IMO, would make them much more mobile and emphasize being able to shift all your forces where they are needed in defense.

That wouldn't work overmind because the Spine Crawler could just be massed then and would be able to overwhelm any sort of defense because it has no cap. The loss of armor in exchange for mobility was there so that it could not move about the map as much. Making it able to go through the Nydus network would negate the need to lose armor when in mobile form since it would need to go a much shorter distance. In my opinion the Spine Crawler is a needed change for the Zerg in that it does define its use. However I wouldn't mind if they named it Sunken Crawler instead. :D Just for old times sake.

A Sunken Crawler would have to be underground, no? :p

You know what I like about the Nydus Worm's current mechanic? It's essentially opening an entrance to virtually anywhere on the map, with Creep for faster Zerg ground movement. It's like backdoor Pylon, with Warp Prism and a single Probe. Just fly your Overseer to the enemy base, summon a Nydus Worm, and pump a few Drones over to morph some Spine Crawlers! You can even keep extending the Creep with either a Queen's Creep Tumor (move her over there) or another Nydus Worm (from another Overseer)!! It's all so convenient.

Edit: You would need a Overlord/Overseer to place creep, would be constantly attacked by the player your attacking while you make spine crawlers and all of your tumors would contined to be destroyed and you can only have 1 Queen and if it dies you need a hatchery for it to teleport to it back.

Lol, so the spine crawler is in a way like the phase cannon? can change to phase/move mode and move around..? It would be funny if someone won by an army of spine crawlers...i just won a game by trapping 3 enemies inside their bases by building a few squares of photon cannons around thier base..They ran out of minerals, stopped trying to get out and all i had to kill them with was 6 carriers, 3 arbiters and an observer! mwahahaha!!

The Phase Cannon can't phase out any more, it was given to the Sunken Crawler and Spore Crawler.

So the Phase Cannon cannot teleport anymore.

you would need about 45-70 Spine Crawlers to breack down a defence.

I just thought of something you know that 9999 hp Marine what about a 9999 hp Spine Crawler, that would be fun!

I think they need to make spines and spores bigger and more aggressive looking.

Bigger colonies would take up more space, so you'd have fewer of them.

In 9999 hp spine crawler their would have to be invincable creep tumors or 9999 hp tumors in the middle so the creep crawler can move around faster.
