Maybe when the DA takes it over they have to retro-fit it with like internal metal plating or something

Disgusting. Don't even wanna think about it...

    ...But I will now.

Lets see... slime dripping off the inside layer of the skin, smell of living flesh, the rhythmetic heartbeat,(I don't know if they have hearts, lol), an explosion of flesh every time a wraith missle hits the overlord...

it would be warm. and cushiony, and very fleshy. it must be difficult for zergling to start small-growl in the belly or where-ever of an overlord

Nah they're purpose built for psionic control of the minions. The ventral sacs for transport are just an evolutionary upgrade

No, really, I'm wondering how 2 ultralisks or 2 siege tanks actually fit in there. One ultralisk is already bigger than the entire overlord, not to mention two ultralisks. Unless they curl up into a gooey ball inside there or something...

The ultralisk is not bigger than the overlord. The length and width of the overlord is the same as the ultralisk. But the height of the overlord's transport sacs are twice or even more than the height of the ultralisk. Have a look at some of the cinematics in starcraft original. An overlord is a lot larger than a mutalisk. So it's safe to conclude that the 2 ultralisks can fit inside.

The in-game unit sizes are clearly not to scale. In SC1 (before brood war) remember there was that mission where infested kerrigan had to infiltrate that science vessel to discover her hidden powers? And the level was huge! Then after there was the cinematic, which clearly showed the science vessel next to that transport with like 6 infantry troops onboard. It was comparitively puny. So the in-game sizes are nothing to go by, I'm sure the overlords are gigantic floating beasts, practically small cities of flesh...with little ultralisk filled sacs hangin underneath...awesome

It all sound so very smelly. The whole Zerg race sounds smelly with their constant bowel noises. Kind of makes me feel sick thinking about it

also, in the bw intro, the battle cruiser you see is way bigger than most things. I bet it would feel... squishy, but i'm sure the zerg don't mind.

I am surprised to see how popular this thread has become; don't you think we have beaten a dead horse too much? I mean, come on, it's not that hard to think of what an Overlord is like on the inside. Probably not the Hilton, but to a Zerg, it must be good.

LOL, Dude, come on, I was talking about the Hilton Hotel. I don't wanna even think about traveling in Paris Hilton; or Nicole for that matter. I've gotta eat to survive. And eating is hard when you think about something like that. How in the world did you think of that? There are some things just not meant to be thought of, LOL.

Awww man... now I'm sorry you beat me to the joke before I could post it!!!! for that one ;)

Anyway.... *geez* I don't think that the Zerg actually really "eat" or create waste. They metabolize only gas... I can't explain the ones that cost only minerals...but that was the explanation in the books... gas was needed for metabolism.

Anyway, Overlords allow other units to see cloaked units because they "sense" things... kinda like a dog could probably sense an invisible person because it would smell them.... According to the books(once again) Overlords are almost blind if not totally. So they "sense" a presence, transmit it to the Overmind and since all Zerg share that one mind, they all automatically know where that unit is.

From what I can tell of the cinematics the Overlords probably DO move by releasing gas because they're evolved for space transport as well... the best way to move in space is to squirt air, but they would need a large quantity of air to go a long distance... unless they can somehow make their own.
