    actually it's quite different from the dropship, the only similarity is they can carry units, even that's not exactly the same as dropships can carry all ground units (maybe except the thor) where as this can only carry infantry.

    dropship chameleon
    -air unit -ground unit
    -carry infantry & vehicle -carry infantry only
    -higher capacity -lower capacity
    -much more hp -much less hp
    -units within die when -units survive when
    destroyed destroyed
    -no ability -can cloak
    -has grappler
    -units can attack from within while loaded

    i kinda like the idea

    but then again... too many unit types isnt always a good thing

    In a new game like SC2 I think it is. Its definitely at LEAST worth including it in a beta.

    Also, Reaker, I disagree, I think the units within should die on destruction. Doesn't make sense or else you could throw 20 of these at a base and as long as they make headway you've gained.

    Plus its only non-imba when shooting from within is an upgrade. This would be a late Tier 2 unit.

    Well, I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to say I hate any unit that is named after a pokemon (Charmeleon, wtf?)

    Anyways, there's really no need for an APC, as marines are cheap and have a ranged attack, so they don't need to make it up close to enemy positions and it's okay to lose a few (or a dozen or more).

    But the cloak idea is cool. Maybe just have the dropship cloak? The new protoss unit that functions as a shuttle also has other abilities, so why not?

    But I think the thing I'd most like to see is a napalm strike.

    Sorry Nukem, but you didn't read the post up correctly. The unit is supposed to be called the "Chameleon" not the Charmeleon, lol?

    Anyways if you cloak one transport unit you've gotta cloak 'em all! :D

    oops, spelt it wrong. changed it. thanks for pointing it out

    about unit dying, maybe they'll get heavy damage or when units attack from within it automatically uncloaks or some other balance

    with only 100hp, poorer mobility than the dropships and a cloak that uses energy (so it can't always cloak) it's should be easier to kill than dropships so everyone dying might be too harsh.

    Maybe they wanted to say that the submarine unit was a subterran unit...

    How about a flak cannon?

    Terran ground to air unit. Needs to set up (similar to siege mode) to fire at air. Can't move in this mode, but is fairly fast in normal mode (either no attack or a very weak one). Fires flak rounds which cause AoE air damage. Probably about 20 damage a shot or around there. Similar cooldown to the siege tank.

    I just though that it might be cool since AoE is terran's thing now and that there aren't really any surface to air AoE attacks.

    On the other hand, it's kind of narrow and redundant.

    How about an attack dog! I can see it now, rottweilers with space helmets.

    Ok anyways... Not really a new unit but, how about being able to mount a marine onto a siege tank so it'll have a machine gun slightly stronger than a marines rifle. But only one marine is allowed on, or else it would be too cheap.

    I think the Terrans need an IFV they can drive around and shoot. Have it fit say 6 marines that die when it dies

    Hmm, good point. They can have lasers on their backs, like those sharks from Austin Powers Goldmember. :p

    If it weren't for the Reaper mines that SORT of overshadows this, I'd think it'd be pretty cool to have like special ops guys.

    Units that don't attack, but have a "disabling" ability after being targeted towards an enemy structure, Protoss or Zerg. So basically these guys are wise beyond their years and can program or "disable" a building from being able to produce anything or lose its effects like a phase cannon or something WHILE they're "occupying" the structure. However, they can still be targeted by the enemy and the structure is back online and fully functional after the Special Ops guy gets blown off.

    Maybe?
