you need to put some initial pressure on his base, so he has to use his VRs to defend himself, try to multitask and put down a nydus in his base. zerg is the most vulnerable to VRs imo.

VRs means his base front is weak, and there is no way he can really stop a mass speed ling in his base. Suppose you are already in that bad situation, use your hydras to stand behind the mineral line where they like to come and use banelings and speedlings to attack his base.

micro your hydras back and forth so that they aren't charged when they attack your hydras.

I would have done that, but once he is in my base, he is always charged, I have to choose if I want to sacrifice my units, or let him kill my base. I guess I should have let him kill it and regroup, after all he had only one base too. But the plus for air units is, that they can confront the VRs away from buildings, where they loose their charge after pulling back.

I even used banelings to try to get through to his base, but he had some zealots already which took the fire.

    Thanks for your thoughts though.

I must admit when I know there is Zerg on the other side of the fence I'm already thinking to VR rush. I have had my a** handed to me a couple of times because of it as well though. Mostly because the other team was expecting me to do it. I can lay down a slew of cannons yes but as previously stated cannons can be overran by shear numbers and if you aren't putting pressure on my base to force me to rebuild the cannons or force me into another tech or building strategy then you deserve to get taken out by the VRs.
