What happened to Earth

Well I don't know a whole lot about those things from the novels, but I do know that the Protoss currently don't give a **** about honor. They didn't brought back those Collosi because they prefer hand to hand combat. So I really don't see why they can't just make black holes, since they're even working together with the formerly exiled Dark Templar now. :/

 

But we were talking pre-uniting protoss, not DT.


The problem is that we don't even have a clue what kind of tech Earth has. All I knew is that they have uber-tachyon lazers. And I have no clue what they are except that they were in that absolutely abyssmal star trek episode.

 

tachyon is a particle that travels faster than light i believe (on the basis of my noob knowledge of particle physics, maybe ask the Higgs boson xD)

They may be used to counter the mini-black holes that the toss might generate.
the MS's vortex isnt really a black hole becus if it was, all information about matter would be immediately destroyed at the singularity (or 2-d disk since the vortex rotates, we can infer a "Kerr" black hole)

Well, that's pretty much what the original Vortex ability did. It wasn't called Black Hole for the lols.

also!, if they have that tech, why not just create massive gravity wells at strategic points (not a black hole and thus save a lot of energy) to destroy enemy units like a 200-dps psi storm?

 

For the same reason as why they abandoned the awesomeness called Reavers, why the Zerg abandoned Scourge, and why the Terrans abandoned Medics. Which is: no reason at all, just the story writers being silly.

 

You know they didnt even talk about Dark Archons, which is retarded cuz in BW it said that the dark templar brought back one of their greatest weps.
