this is critical for sc2.. I mean, if it is indeed Swedish, the hybrids will not appear at WoL.

dont really think they are going to befriend them lol

 

- Mengsk is challenged by Raynor and protoss forces.
- Raynor tries to gain the trust of his crew and followers and succeeds by destroying a vital empire structure and small zerg broods scattered throughout the worlds.
- Raynor gets captured and is unplayable for about 1/2 of the game.
- Someone from Raynors crew is a spy.
- Everyone assumes the traitor is the guy in the uniform and suspects him for Raynors disappearance, but Tychus and Zeratul trust him.
-The three gather enough people and save Raynor and he reveals the traitor is the Hyperion's mechanic.
- All together, they take one huge stand against the empire.
- in the midst of battle, Kerrigan's main force comes and attack both Mengsk and Raynor Forces.
- Mengsks empire falls by the zerg, Raynor retreats with major casualties. No one knows what happened to Mengsk.
- Raynor, Tychus, Zeratul, and Uniform guy fend off zerg from a vital point (while kerrigan is focusing on something else) 'hint hint - cliffhanger'

Either what we saw on the "Heart of the Swarm" cinematic means that:

- Zeratul was going for revenge on Kerrigan's betrayal (for killing the matriarch, fenix, other brethren), or else;

- As you say, he goes there after meeting Jimmy on the Hyperion, to chat Kerrigan about the coming Hybrid threat. Who knows a possible new temporary alliance? Just like "the old days"?

Just this time there's no doubt what either Zeratul or Jimmy will be doing after they beat the Hybrid. Duh...I'm guessing too much conspiracy.

 

heh, i wonder if mengsk has a time machine... and raynor finds it, steals it and uses it to save Fenix or one of the awesome heros lost.

imagine... human kerrigan and raynor vs infested kerrigan?

will there be just one campaign for this campaign ? I mean when you play the Terran campaign in SC1 you play with Raynor and Arcturus Mengsk, and then still with Raynor but against Arcturus Mengsk.

In Brood War, easy, it was just with one faction : the UED.

There will be 30 missions in the first campaign of SC2, and all different according to Blizzard. So I'd like to see us controling different factions of the Terran. And of course I don't want the scenario, so the campaign, to follow SC1's "logic".

What is the "logic" ? Well when you started to play with the Terran you had to fight against the Zerg (and Arcturus, some other Terran too). You had to destroy and clean some areas from any Zerg presence.
When you played to the Zerg you were the survivals from the Terran devastation you subished from the Terran campaign. Saidd differently you were the Terran and you had to kill the Zerg, and now in the Zerg campagn you play the Zerg which were killed by the Terran you played before.
In the Zerg campaign you have to destroy and kill the Protoss, and when you play the Protoss campaign you are the survivors from the Zerg that you played in the previous Zerg campaign.

Now you understand this "logic".

I like it its a great way for you to feel the effects that you had earlier.

But, as far as story goes, I think you guys are focusing too much on the obvious already confirmed information. Sure, Jim Raynor will want to get revenge on Mengsk and will do missions towards that goal but basing an entire game's campaign (Now, the only main one) on Terran vs Terran is boring. We need some Protoss lore in there since they're the ones that make the game interesting. I think the main story arcs in that campaign won't simply be Jim Raynor vs Arcturus Mengsk but will deeply involve Duran and the Hybrids and (of course) Zeratul and the Xel'Naga. If these aspects aren't in there, and, for the most part, a bigger story arc than simple, plain, and boring Jim Raynor vs Arcturus Mengsk (Terran vs Terran) then I will be greatly disappointed and will move on to multiplayer much quicker than I would want to...

... Also, that would make the wait until the next follow-ons even more unbearable and my poor little heart couldn't take that especially with Diablo 3 being on the horizon once StarCraft 2 is released.

 

He is trying to steal 'alien artifacts' to fund his war so he will be fighting protoss defenders.

 

With a dash of Mengsk and Zerg on the side.
