Not directly. It deviates from the storyline in starcraft a few times. Specificaly, Kerrigan has insane powers in the novel (like shooting the marine's spikes right back at them with her mind...BEFORE her powers are unlocked!), and there are a few minor story diffrences, like Kerrigans battle with the dark templar turning out...very diffrently.

But since starcraft 2 makes quite a few changes to the storyline, the book may as well be canon (its close enough). I've also heard that Enslavers is canon, in case you were curious.

 

Enslavers is cannon since Blizzard made it.

Anything Directly made by Blizzard is automatically cannon since it is their franchise unless they say otherwise

 

great graphics and visuals...way better than the 2d starcraft 1.

 

What I like about Stacraft II is the new graphics, most units, and New Storyline (From what I heard Kerri Dies), but some changes are just plain silly Firebat in the factory? So its a mechanical unit with a guy inside that shoots fire... but it isn't, also most of the changes are way too big. My idea is to put some information in campaign's story line like Kerrigan explains to you about Nydus Worms in the game like "Celebrate these new Nydus Worms are more effective the the old Nydus Canals. These beast's are Infested (From whatever species they are or where they come from) and can be planted in any destination that is explored".

If Blizzard includes a book I hope that they include an extra booklet of the storyline or some unit history!

 

What do I like most about Starcraft II???

I am excited for everything - the new graphics, new units, new terrains, new levels, new stories, new characters, new mechanics...

My favorite part is the fact that it is a continuation of the original Starcraft and I am looking forward to the new stuff.

No extra detail is necessary dude! Haha I am simply excited due to the fact that Starcraft was such a great game and I am going to be seeing more - in 3-D, with new everything!

 

Well I'm gonna enjoy gaming for SC II NEW COMPUTER! I owe it all to Joneagle_X (One of the best MODS!) and Bop.. And WLck kind of..
