When I use humans I always have 4-5 of each spellcaster on stand-by, you never know what can happen and Ive had a few casters turn the tide of battle for me previously.

I almost never went casters when I was human. I went knights a few time but usually mortars/tanks.

A piece of advise, humans have the best combination of spellcasters around, imagine getting a group of 5-6 sorcereces to make a troop of 15 knights invisible, then inner fire them and sneaking them into your enemies base past his defenses, if you are feeling cheeky sneek in the casters to so you can recast incis if your getting pounded, run back to your base, heal with priests and play the same play, talk about havoc.

Imagine 24 mortars blowing all those spellcasters to bits before they do a single thing.

Yesh, very true. Anyway, Im not a big fan of massing to I use the casters to aid my wide range of units, more than 12 of a unit is too much for me.

Generally I wont get more than 12 of something.
except footmen, I get like 20 some of those sometimes in the beginning for a rush
or archers i get like 24 of them sometimes
    or faeries, like 24 sometimes
and mortars i try to get as many as i can, usually this is 24... 24 mortars make shit just disappear.

My bro had a use for them in team games. Have one near one of enemies' bases and attack another base with whole unit of tanks. When they tp trying to defend the base he teleported all tanks to that single one with AM and attacked another base. Little chance they could get there on foot before base is razed.
It wasn't for very advanced level though

Ya, ive used them for AA support in an island match, them hipp riders had no chance, but besides AA i think they are somewhat useless, i use mortars for all my building sieging.

well yeah mortars are a lot better for attacking buildings.
