i think its just units that can be built from the gateway/warpgate.

From what we know so far burkid is correct. So Zealots, Stalkers, Immortals, HT and DT will be able to "warp in" unless theres another building for those we dont know about ;)

And I'm glad I could help.

i think a couple of you are confused, the warp gate atm does not store or hold units, when you click on a zealot icon at the warpgate it builds that unit, taking away minerals, but you have a choice of where you place it on pylon power, it also changes the build time, becuase the warp in is almost instantaneous, after you build your first zealot, the gateway then has to recharge, the recharge time will be the normal build time for a zealot.

that is what i originally thought

it is just building a unit far away in pylon power

so dont you think that there is reason for the building to be converted back into gateway form?
To allow a steady and longer queue? thus I think that u can change between gateway and warp gate

    he... didnt.
he warped 10 zealots in. and there were parts of the base that we couldnt see that might have had the warpgates.
he only warped 4 stalkers in.

yeah he had as many warp gates as zealots and they were in a control group, he didnt have to select them manually, but if you look you can see their icons once selected

but it is 16 zealots, not 10

    but hey

that means an instant 16 units anywhere in pylon power anytime

i say its worth the space

For a quick defense, I just don't see this as practical attack manuever... I'd have to build like 2 dozen gate ways to have an adequate medium sized force... Bleh.

It'd be better if you could just upgrade the gateway and choose one unit you "wish to queue" and it'll add it to your queue...

but think, say u have an area of your base that is being attacked and u have pylon power there, but it seems slightly in the enemy's favor, just warp in some units and now you have the upper hand

I dont thik it is mainly for massing large armies, but aiding your armies in battle or maybe claiming a territory or base area

and it it could be useful for a sneak attack, say you sneak a phase prism behind an enemy's base in a close but uninhabited area, just keep warping in some units and then when his main army is in battle, send them in and you have a chance to do some serious damage

see there are plenty of workable scenarios, plus it has a cooldown but eventually when that ends u can send another mass so wait a bit and instead of 16 you have 32!!

Exactly, now instead of sending a group of shuttles over that might get destroyed on the way you just need the 1 phase prism.
