Generally you can't hear observers or enemies in most games

If they are annoying little kids, squelch them, or if you are hosting a game and you know they are annoying before the start, ban them, or if you are playing a custom game and the host can ban people, ban them there.

To put these thoughts into a more organized statement. If they are annoying, punish them, if you cannot punish them, then squelch them.

Or just be like some people and turn traitor, also known as BS. I've never done it, but I have had allies BS. That always adds a little excitement to the conversations and gameplay. But all your units in the annoying guys base, and flip the allied button to enemy. Before you know it, no more base.

I think they should do somthing like Counterstrike. Where you have hotkey options to say things such as Cover Me, need Backup, you take the point, or GO GO GO! this way not to much typing is needed. i really cannot stand playing on xbox live with all the kids under the age of 10 who have squeaky annoying voices and there always complaining because thier newbs. if they cant be muted i dont want it. you have plenty of time to type over Starcraft. unlike CounterStrike.

i belive you wont be able to BS in starcraft2 i think set allys are set like warcraft 3 which goes agains what starcraft is if you remmeber the quote on the box " YOUR ONLY ALLIES ARE YOUR ENIMES" makes starcraft what it is.

No. Voice chat = lag = BAN. Even in a forum or a chat room.

You could have voice chat turned off for slower computers. I've seen voice chat used in games before, but I've never heard of it causing lag issues.

If u know ur computer sucks dont use voice chat, its as simple as that. And crapy computers wont be able to play sc2 anyways so there really shouldnt be a major problem.

Guys, lag in voice chat doesn't mean your computer is slow... There's many aspects as internet providers filters for p2p stream(some games use voice chat based on p2p), ping( you can have 10 Mbps and it will lag a little with bad ping, especially if you have wireless internet), and your ISP's port forwading, some internet providers block various ports for various reasons.

Voice chat's already used in most of the newer games out, and usually they cause very little or no lag at all. It's not like you have to listen to it. If you don't want it you could turn it off, but it's much more convenient than typing.

Especially when you use hotkeys during battle, you would have to take a break from your development every time you wanted to say something to your teammate.
