Voice that would be a huge improvement. It's much more convenient than typing. The only way you could talk to someone in SC was by calling them, and I'd rather not hand out my number to complete strangers.

Couldn't they give the game the ability to partially translate languages or better yet, have a matchmaking option to play people with the same language as you? I think Halo 3 does something like that.

It would be cool so long as it didn't lag you too much. And not everyone has a head-set...

The head set could come with the game.

Or be a part of the game you could buy separately

Pretty much every new gamehas voice chat and I haven't seen any games where this causes negative performance. Also headsets aren't cheap and since they are usefull in so many games there is no reason not to get one. Besides you don't have to use it. The keyboard will always be there

WoW got voice chat just recently, which increases the odds of SC2 getting one.

I don't see why not, well except the usual imbeciles that are hanging out in Halo3 lounges that may come to SC2, but from WoW its shown that Bliz will ban idiots like that especially if their reacist. Good CS.

Voice chat would be a positive to the gameplay. It would make it easier to comunicate to allies on b-net and allow people to chat freely with their allies, allowing them to talk about other things besides strategies; as long as the talks are clean.

Why would you do that? Not everyone has a working mic. I consider voice chat to usually be more annoying, since most games its implemented in have all little kids who like swearing and think it's funny.

I haven't had any problems with it. If they swear a lot just turn it off or ignore them.

Wasting time with idiots is not my trade. Since the ambiency is over the interenet, I don't care the least bit if someone annoys me and squelch them without thinking thrice.

I just think chat will make the game better as a whole. Many other games that have it don't have much of a problem with immaturity. If they are being annoying, just squelch them. There, problem solved. Do ypu think headphones should be sold with the game or sold separately at an extra charge?

Definitely sold separately. Wouldn't be a smart idea selling headphones with the game, firstly because it doesn't have anything to do with Blizzard, secondly why sell it with the game if you can buy it separately, and thirdly, many people already have earphones, and don't need them.

I don't, but headphones are cheap and easy to find. Just have to get the game first and see.

Welcome to the forums, and good reason why Blizzard has no reason not to include voice chat.

Hehe yeah... I learned to type fast because of StarCraft :)

Voice chat is essential to next gen competitive online games, and I'm glad they decided to include it. Hope they include options like allow all to talk/hear (probably best only in UMS/non-ladder games) and quick shortcuts like mute observer/enemies in those types of games.
