Yeah you have to wait for someone to argue with you first ;D

I was under the impression Hydralisk and Viking were opposite numbers in the game? Armour attack and speed being virtually the same.

Yeah guys, easy on the double-posting and over-quoting. You guys should probably read the Forum Rules first. No double-posting, no over-quoting and no quoting the person above you, unless you're responding to each specific part. Also, I get my information from sc2armory.com.
@ AcE_01. The Viking definitely can. Remember, the Viking is about the same tier as the Hydralisk. The Viking has 125 health and because of its bonus against Light targets, it deals two lots of sixteen damage each attack against the Hydralisk. The Hydralisk only has 80 health and only deals one lot of eight damage each attack, and they both have a Normal attack speed. It would only take a Viking three shots to take out a Hydralisk, and it'd take the Hydralisk sixteen shots to take out the Viking.
Looking at the Hydralisk's stats, they must either wrong or haven't been balanced yet. Vikings are specialists at taking out Light targets, but it's more than that. Hydralisks are expensive, don't deal much damage and don't have much health. They're bound to change soon, which would obviously alter the outcome, but at the moment they're way too weak.

The predator used to fill this role but since it was axed we are waiting for a replacement unit to be announced. There's a thread on the forums where people are campaining to bring it back

ah, i apologize for the mistakes :-[, will keep it in mind. anyway, thx for the info!

did see the thread for the predator and it does seem cool, intercepts missiles and all, if only it intercepts interceptors ::) but the guy is right, even if the predator might be axed, terrans do need something similiar back to have equal footing on the air, might not be a plain old AtA unit (that would be plain boring) but at least something to disable enemy air units or augment air allies. anything thats different or innovative i guess >.> (glad im not the game designer, would be banging my head by now)

btw, wat does (+1) beside the dmg and armor number mean for the units in sc2armoury.com?

The Viking Returns....to the Starport [Terran Update]

    For the latest Q&A: http://www.starcraft2forum.org/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=47&topic=6765.0
Well, personally I am outraged by this. I was all content when they moved it back and now, once again, its gone from the factory.
This issue has been discussed before but a lot has happened since then.

    The point here is:
    - In order for the Viking to really be useful and make the most of its GtA transformation, making it a tier 2 unit makes much more sence than a tier 3 unit. This way, its a less effective raider, and why would you want an air unit that transforms into a ground unit. It just sounds illy.
    - Terran are still lacking a GOOD AA solution. The Thor didn't cut it, the Viking should not be soley an AA, and for some reason the Predator was scrapped.

I would simply propose to give the Terrans back the Predator, and return the Viking to the Factory.
This would then make the Thor less than useful.
    Thoughts?

well, it can fly so its only natural that its made at the starport, its real mobility comes from the flying, when it walks, its not as fast so yea..

Re: The Viking Returns....to the Starport [Terran Update]

to be honest, i dont think where this unit is made from is even important. its a miner harrasser/AA but its AA is better agenst heavy air units which u cant reach till late game, other then that marines, muraders, and medics(when they return) should be a to handle air just fine. And we cant forget Missle turrents. As for its harrasment. early game its not really needed as reapers might do a better job bombing a CC/hive/nex, killing miners, and running away... this units roles are already covered nicely so having it out of the factory dosent really matter that much.

Re: The Viking Returns....to the Starport [Terran Update]

I'm very disappointed the Viking has been moved back to the Starport. For me moving it from the Starport to the Factory and back again changes the approach of the entire Terran gameplay each time it's moved. With the Viking made at the factory and as a Tier 2 unit it could have become the staple ground / early unit, giving the Terran huge mobility which is what makes them great fun to use.

Making one of the most interesting units in the game a mid to late game unit that will end up being used far less as a result gets a definite :bad: from me.

Yeah the Factory should produce: Jackal, Crucio Tank, Viking

Since it is the Goliath-like replacement, but that's just me talking.

I think the factory should produce:
Viking (armory, starport for air mode)), Jackal (no tech needed), Tank (add-on).
Scrap the reaper and bring back the Predator, then the unit count is ok. The Thor should come back to his old form, the same should the dropship and the medic.

^ then the unit count wouldn't be balanced. the reason they got rid of the medic was because you got into those situations were you could have 2 medics constantly keeping every thing alive because they were insane to kill because they could heal each other. now that they're machanical they can't heal so they are more balanced. the reaper is the terrans hill jumper with out another they aren't going to leave a machanic just to the toss.

Medics were easy to kill. It just took time.

Unless the game is still trying to roll down the hill, because Terran are really good near the start with M & M while you're building your Factory.

thats the point it wouldn't take half as long to kill them if they couldn't heal each other and that means if you attack the med drop ship and it either is destroyed or has to run away it leaves rines that aren't being healed and die quicker.

I say fast rate, low damage and it should be used for Worker raids and anti-air attacks.

    My thoughts
