    I think ovie's right.

Novacute, take into account that ultras attack faster than thors, so it's only logical that they deal less damage. Overall, however, I think the ultra's damage/second ratio is better. No buffing needed here either.

You are wrong darkone, they are called cracklings because they are on crack. 10 can take down a nexus in no time seriously. If protoss leaves his base and you have a defiler and 24 cracklings he will lose a base!

I think it actully reads 2 attacks at 8 damage on the units attack information now.

Are you sure it's AoE? I thought it could attack 2 frontal enemies at once. That's a slight difference.

It's neither AoE or what you said lvhoang. It does a cleaving attack in front of it that hits all units inside its arc - it's not limited to two targets. It could potentially hit a handful of Zealots, Marines or Zerglings.

The ultra is doing 20 damage in a frontal arc that damages any unit close. An ultralisk will now eat its way through a marine blob, several ultralisks will simply cut any mass of low tier units into small bits.

On the Cracklings, I always assumed it was because they are like Zerglings on crack... not that they actually crack stuff lol.

Why do people keep saying it does 20 damage? It does 20 (x2) damage, that is 40 damage.

And with the potential of averagely hitting something like three units at a time (but at its peak it will hit four or five at a time) it will deal almost 120 damage a swipe. With the right positioning, it has the highest dps of any normal unit in the game.

Never though of that! That would also make the user have to do a little micro on the ultra for the most damge posible. This would also make the enemy micro a bit more to so he can save his men.

Ultras are Zergs answer to the colossus.

They will rip through Zealots and marines like a colossus through lings. They lack the range but are much tougher in compensation. No damage boost needed.
