Ultralisk Concept Art at GDC `08!

The same place where I would like to see the unit presented actually being called an ultralisk.

 

It's pretty damn clear that it's an ultralisk. It looks exactly like the Ultralisk from SC1.

If that turns out not to be an ultralisk, then I will give 1,000 minerals to the first person who can prove it is not.

 

Well i see that its pretty damn clear that the Beta is going to be released at the WWI 08 seeing as how it would be retarded for them to post the Beta up on one of their sites if it wasn't near by.

I think they head plate is a tad big but I like the overall presentation. Remember the units shouldn't look the same since, storywise, its been several years since the Brood Wars

 

ok i was surfing on a swedish newspage and i looked at the game sections and there i saw that the beta  to starcraft 2 would come out on the Versailles Exposision Center convention!!!

The new me! i mean the new Ultralisk! i like it! I can see 2 no 4 claws! now I have become a killing machine!

 

i havent Read All the Posts BUT if someone hasnt seen the other screens are here:
with some Zerg UI and units sellection it seems starcraft2 curent build has 200!!!! units sellection limit! oh! now how much will the total limit be? 500?

Couple of things, one blizzard confirmed this is the new ultralisk:

Two, hello? Cryptlord = big bug, ultralisk, big bug. How can they be that different? They both have the same rolls, cryptlord can take a beating and hand one as well.

The only similarities are that they both have 4 legs, and that the CL has 2 arms to smash, and the ultra has the tusks, other than that, posture looks, feel are very different.

The crown ontop of the ultralisk is armor, and is for protection, being able to take a beating.

I like the 4 tusks, more tusks = more damage.

I like the new ultra, its very bulky, very beefy, looks like it can take a serious beating and still charge, while doing good damage, which is its roll anyway.

Btw, have you noticed how sharp that zergling looks?

 

I wonder, does it show 24x5 units or about that number was selected?
Left to all the zergling icons are numbers 1-5, I think these will be used to switch between units shown on UI

 

we will see.....but if you read all the Presentation (i cant find noware a Video to download from the presentation anyone?) you will see why blizzard makes super duper hits people.

they have learned many thinks throu years and they have made Game Development and ADVANCED science!!!! they even has phycologists to help and record how players react!....

this is an PROTOTYPE COMPANY for all out there!!

ooo checking the link you gave I've found this, not about starcraft at all (only the ultralisk thing), but pretty interesting slideshow.

And it convinced me that the ultralisk was real, but early work.

 

Does that Ultralisk fit into a Nydus Worm or an Overlord?
