I think I'll pass. It just felt odd how easy was the "hard" one, but I doubt I'll go beyond very hard.

Note to self: Always check names on the rare items. I didn't really pay attention to that until I found "Piercing Icy Doomhead"

Added: Welcome floor 30. There goes the "easy" thing. Dashing disciples I can deal with, bossess every five steps are kinda neat, but those poison spitting zealots that summon a horde of skeletons from three times my firing range...

Just played the game, it's kind of nice. What I do find is that it's 'hard' to click on the enemies. I really have to work with the shift-key to properly attack the enemies otherwise I just end up running around them. Also, I really like the abilty of the pet being able to go sell your items but the pet does seem a bit overpowered. They never die, EVER, and you don't have to heal them either.

Last bit of criticism up till now, I don't like the limited 'range' of ranged items.

i think they really should rework the skills. as the vanquisher, the guided shot is absolutely useless. i just use exploding arrow all the time. even the level 25 skill is useless, too much mana and i can get more DPS by spamming exploding arrow.

and i played around with the trap skills, they're useless.

the destroyer is also pretty lacking... nothing particularly good on him. just sticking with the level 1 slash skill and smashing through enemies. and same with the alchemist. the laser beam skill is really all you need.

none of the skills really seem to work together... and there's always a definite "best" skill for each character: the crowd control skill. you spam a splash skill until the enemies are all dead, move on. sure, Diablo II was the same thing, you spam a crowd-control skill until the masses are dead, but at least there were a bunch to choose from for each character.

there ARE good ideas here, though. shared stash, item heirlooming, etc. one thing i REALLY hate is enchanting, though. they should just change it to reset an item to its "base" enchantments, not remove everything. and what's with the percentages? i cheated and gave myself infinite gold to mess around with it, but on average, it seems to me that 2% disenchant means 10% disenchant and 40% chance of failure. 10% disenchant means 50% disenchant and 40% failure. totally broken. why would i risk enchanting a unique item if, even at the "base" 2% level i'm seeing 10% disenchant rates?

I got a level 66 Destroyer and a level 40 Vanquisher. Played now for about 63 hours. Isn't much though...

I like the destroyer very much. Got good gear. First played with 1 hand and shield, then switched to dual wield when I reached the maximum block value of 50%. But I still need Shadow Armor to reach 50% block.

... for the price the game costs, I can only recommend it...

Kind of an old topic, but didn't want to create a new one. I just downloaded the demo and it is a lot of fun. What is the difference between the demo and the full game though? Just wondering because the demo seems like a I'll game to me. Can't wait for this to become an MMO though.

As far as I know, in the demo there should be a time limit of 1 hour. Meaning if the time is up, you won't be able to play anymore.

    Me, too. :D

I'm pretty sure I've played for over an hour... and I've opened it multiple times as well.

Yeah? Strange. Usually all Indy games do have a time limit. My demo version had one at least. Where did you download your demo version from, Caiaphas?

Torchlight is really awsome! I downloaded a pirated version to try it out and I'm gonna order the normal one, simply to support that very cool game!
It's like the cheapest game out there and offers loads of fun!

The game is stupid. You can enchant your weapon unlimited times... so whats the point? with level 10 you will have an imbalanced weapon... or armor...
