It seems rather early, but Blizzard did start working on SC2 about four years ago, and in four years the WoW craze should die down so I guess that makes sense.

 

I suppose that point is valid. Afterall, what on Earth can they do after this next expansion? They'll have used all the places that were visited in WC3. After this they'd have to invent now places to expand into, and what is the story? I cannot imagine more than 1 expansion after WotLK. So if that is correct the game has what, 3-4 years left? Oh good god just thinking about playing that game for 3-4 more years is making me sick! I have not intention to do so but just imagining doing that is making me want to vomit.

 

there are other places they havent visited from wcIII; the broken isles in the middle of the ocean, the emerald dream, the underworld and the twisting nether's dreadlord fortress

 

I find it really odd how everyone on this forum is so critical of one blizzards games which alos happens to have the most subscribers by comparrision to any other similar. I aslo find it odd how critical everyone is about anything related to the Warcraft universe when Starcraft was made by the same company and this site is all about Starcraft.

As for storylines WoW wise I wouldnt look at it as places left to add more look as if what major bad guys are left? Assuming everyone that you killed In BC and havnt announced they are not are dead are actually dead. The only big bad guys left are Kael'thas, Deathwing, and Kil'jaden. Corss of Kael'thas because you still have defeated him even if you havnt killed him. Deathwing is more of a question mark but I doupt he is popular enough to make an expansion around, so that just leaves Kil'jaden. Which means if Blizzard doesnt create any new bosses the last expansion will end up being a direct war against the burning legion.

 

Not everyone, I like wow and Warcraft lore even moreso.
Deathwing may not be popular to gamers since he only appears in WC2 expansion and is mentioned in WC3, but lore-wise people of Loarderon should recognize him far better than, say, Illidan (who isn't dead btw).
Actually, other than undead and both elven breeds, who even knows about Illidan?

 

we also got the misterious bad guy from the twisting nether, we got the misterious evil beings from the depths of the ocean that command the murlocs, there is the underworld beings, we got that chronoscale dragonflight, we only defeated one of the four elemental lieutenants, we only killed two of the five old gods, we still dont know what happened to the titans, we dont know why the titans creatures turned bad.

sure, we havent met any of them, but they are there

 

And since WoW already butchered storyline, why not to go all out and beat the living crap out of all five Dragon Aspects?

 

actually the golden flight helps you, and the green too, but their mightiest went wild and gaurds the dream portals

 

so we kill the crazied Aspects 'for the good of the world' , and the other two (red, blue) for some equally good reason

 

i think the next expansion will be named something like fury from the depths and will be in undersea tunnels

 

Meee Im am 99% positive Illidan is dead because Maiv is there when you kill and in fact helps you do so. The reason I dont think Kael'thas dies is because after you fight and "kill" him he announces to the world that you failed. Vashj Im not so sure about but there is very little to let me think that she is alive.

Ijffdrie While there is alot of potential bad guys out it seems like Blizzard like having a powerful bad guy from the other warcraft games be kind of a central character in an expansion. Just look at it first Illidan, then the Lich King is coming in WoTLK. Assuming you kill the Lich King that also means you have killed 1 of 2 powerful evil forces left trying to destroy azerouth. The only evil power left with a force similar tto Illidan and the Lich KIng is Kil'jaden.

They said you aren't going to kill Illidan, but that was before bc came out so maybe they changed it, didn't play much bc myself
