If anyones ever used maphack in D2, glider/any bot in WoW youll know perfectly well how blizzard likes to handle this, They wont ban 100 players using a new hack, theyll wait a few week and ban 20,000 they do this for 2 reasons, the first is if you ban 100 people for hacking, the rest of the people who would have hacked had they got the program will be free to use another one, and secondly out of 20,000 hackers im guesstimating 20,000 will rebuy the game. ( yes im being sarcastic, but lets say for arguement 10,000 out of 20 rebuy, thats alot of monies. )

i know this to be true, in my 5 years of wow i had a grand total of 5 accounts, 4 were banned, due to me being lazy and botting. "Ban waves" ... :/

That is the reason Blizzard gave for removing LAN but anyone with a technical background knows that that was bull.

You can't keep people from cheating in online games, you can only moderate and ban the ones that do.

The real reason LAN was removed was so that they could charge subscriptions in Korea, Russia, Brazil, etc.. I.e., no one in those countries would pay a monthly fee if they could just buy the game once for 20 bucks and then play LAN with their friends. Hence, they remove LAN and tell the community some nonsense about piracy or hacking.

This is really sad to me. Pre-WoW Blizzard would never have done something so shady.
