I think that tank on top right looks really cool, I wish they would've taken it.

The one on the top right is what became the Siege Tank, actually.

Weak? Where did you get that idea from?

Also supposedly its speed and turning rate has been increased and its size decreased recently with it now bing an AA platform.

I hope they didn't go overboard with that, I absolutely loved its slow turning speed, made the Thor unique look/role/counters wise.

I think Thor is okay. It is a new generation Terran tech.

Frankly I think the changes are a big mistake.

I liked the idea of a juggernaut and can't see where the overlap is with the Tank.

The tank is a long range artillery platform
The Thor was a damage sponge and defense cracker (using bombardment)

Besides having the primary anti air unit on the highest tech unit of the race with the most liner (and possibly longest) tech tree is bad since the other two races can have air units when the Terrans are still running a factory

Agreed. I also loved the Thor as a huge unit. But the Thor still builds from scvs right?

    I concur.

Yes still scv's. But h3ll_ was right, the unit is now painstakingly weak and just a useless lump at the terrans side.

You haven't even seen it in combat, so don't accuse it of being weak!
Blizz said themselfs that it was pretty good at countering a few secret units that we haven't seen yet.

Its powerful against infantry, I seen it take out a few Zealots in one shot. Its extremely weak vs buildings tho with its normal attack and even worse since it lost them bombardment cannons.

Why would it be extremely weak against buildings? It does extra damage against armored/big units, and I am pretty sure that buildings fall into that category.

No, look how long it took the Thor and marines to take out ONE supply depot in that Terran Showcase video on the Starcraft2.com site. Not sure about how its been modified most recently tho with it's normal attack.

I think they are testing it like crazy right now, so hopefully things turn out better than the current model :bad:

I really hope the small version fails the testing and they make it bigger again, i just cant picture a small battlecruser wieght mech called the thor being the size of a goliath, it just doesn't seem very...Thorish.

I don't think there is a need to make it smaller, The thor can be an awesome anti-air support still.

    Here is some ideas . . .

Keep its size and speed, make it still have a lot of HP, make it only able to attack one ground unit at a time with those arm cannons, and use those shoulder mounted cannons for powerful ground to air attacks that could be very effective against heavy air units.

The thor doesn't really have to be mobile to make it good AA support. Its lack of speed would be to prevent it from directly assault air, but it still could be good protection for your army against air units like the carrier, mothership, and battle cruiser.

The problem with a slow moving Thor is that even the slowest air unit is still at least as fast as a mid range ground unit and would thus be able to fly right past the thor. If that were the case then you might as well build missile turrets because the slow speed would make it useless in any reactive measure forcing you to be proactive with it and have it where it needed to be Before the enemy gets there
