Thor VS Mothership

The time bomb slows down all enemy movement inside it's range...INCLUDING units. Since the Thor is already slow, it would be incredibly slow with a time bomb on it.

Is it definite that the Thor can even attack air?

 

uh...can thor's special ability attack air? if it does the mothership is screwed if they are stationary and not move

 

No it is an artillery barrage. It is placed on the ground. Now if the physics engine tracks the shells too the MS might get hit but you can't actually target it

Every unit does NOT have to equal another!!! Let me repeat that, every individual unit from one race does NOT have to be equally matched almost perfectly with another unit of its caliber!

That's the mistake in WC3 and why so many people don't want to see another Blizzard installment of WC3 in SC2. Thor and mothership are different units used for different things, mothership would be able to kill a thor, get over it, a bunch of vikings would be able to kill a mothership and I accept that. If units are too similar, SC2 will have lost all it had.

 

Actually, I doubt that the Mothership in its current state would be able to kill a Thor all by its lonesome. In fact, I doubt the Thor could kill the Mothership. They'd kind of just sit there fighting for a long time...

I suppose the Mothership would eventually win a 1 on 1 fight, but it would take a lot of damage.

BTW, the Thor is confirmed on being able to shoot air. I've never heard anything to contrary.

 

@ Joneagle_X I think most of us are asking what exactly it would be firing at the air. There's a big difference between a tiny laser and those HUGE mfing cannons.

 

"Just" the Particle Accelerators (arm cannons), the huge 250mm on the back are for the special ability and need energy to operate.

I am wondering though what shoots at air? The arm cannons or do the back cannons shoot flak

 

Hum.. I think that a Thor alone can't destroy a mothership... I was wodnering, Any chance Blizzard will add a somekind of air unit that can in some way "solo" a mothership?

 

As long as the MS can´t target air all AtA Aircraft will be able to solo it.

 

Ah right didn't remember that. Hum well To down a Mothership anyway for terrans one Thor is not enough from what I saw from the videos.

I think that those units on Blizz site arent all terran units, protoss got way more units than terran now, and mothership got "thick protoss shield" so its v powerfull

 

Thor beats mothership or mothership beats thor?

Mothership can easly beat thors cos motherships and just use votex and suck the thor in so the mothership recharges its sheilds but if you miss the thor and it is shooting you with its missiles? (like missile turrets but weaker) if you want to kill a mothership with a thor you may need a scv to repair the thor while fighting or have numerous thors that is the only way to beat the mothership with thors i am guessing and this is my first post and i hope this shows you that mothership beats thor unless thor has backup:laugh:

 

thors are not the strongest unit in the terran army
the battlecruiser is the strongest.
the thor is the second strongest in the terran army:laugh:

Mothership beaths thor canonically. One is a flying city, filled completely with psionic energy sources, capable of ripping holes in time and space, weaponry that glasses planets and enough troops to topple a government.
The thor is a big tank on legs.

Now, Thor VS. colossus in canon gets more interesting.
