Actually Kuvasz I added up all the life of the structures from the start...

    Hatchery = 1250, overlord = 200, drone = 40

    Zerg: 1250 + 200 + 40 + 40 + 40 + 40 = 1,630 total health

    Protoss: 1500 + 40 + 40 + 40 + 40 = 1,680 health

    Terran: 1500 + 60 + 60 + 60 + 60 = 1740 health

There isn't even an equal amount, nor an equal difference of health values from the start...

Note the difference between zerg and toss is 50, the difference between toss and terran is 60.

This begs the question.... what balance is blizzard supposedly balancing this game off of?

I mean, you would think based on the facts above, that zerg should start with 1 extra drone heh...

AtlasMeCH may not be winning many people over here, but I think the 2+1 theme could have been a rough guideline to how Blizzard designed the Starcraft races.

I say this because Warcraft 3 seems to have used a 3+1 guideline.

-- Three races have a 2 food unit as their primary unit. (Footman, Archer, Ghoul) One race is different (Orc Grunt takes three food)

-- Three races have a melee unit as their primary unit. (Footman, Grunt, Ghoul) One race is different (Elven Archers have a ranged unit)

-- Three races have a 10 food supply building (Ziggurat, Burrow, Moon Well). One race is different (Human Farm supplies only 6 food.)

-- Three races have a hero with a summon spell (Human Water Elemental, Orc Spirit Wolves, Elven Treants). One race is different. The Undead heros don't have a summon spell, although the Necromancers (a normal unit) can summon skeletons.

In each of these four cases, it's a different race which has the privilege of being the odd one out each time. I'm guessing that this is deliberate.

The pattern extends into other things, but I'll just give one more example.

-- The heros from three races have two auras. (Human = Devotion+Brilliance, Undead = Unholy+Vampiric, Elves = Trueshot+Thorns). The Orc race is different because the Orc heros only have only one aura, which is the Tauren Chieftain's Endurance aura. However, the Orc's Kodo Beast (a normal unit) has the War Drums.

I'm not saying this pattern is of critical importance to the balance of the game, but it is a pattern nonetheless. I think it's most likely a rough guideline which Blizzard used to create variety across the races.

Technically it's be some number between 49% and 50%, but w/e. I'm just glad this thread is where it belongs.

Does this mean you'll be junking AtlasMeCH's threads from now on? :D

Yes! and it's level 6 / late game, unlike the other races' summon spells.

The best part about this is that all these threads are probably just jokes that AtlasMeCH is playing on us. He's probably just sitting there laughing at all of us for taking the time to explain why what he's posting is utter nonsense when he already knows it is.

Unfortunately I don't think so. It's a type of filosophy he clings to, which is called subjective idealism(well he's following one strand of this filosophical wave anyway). I've met 3, I believe, people with similar filosophical ideas and they all behave the exact same way.

Funniest thing was that one of them is a physics professor for our university who openly suggested that if you turn your back to an item it no longer exists because you no longer monitor it's presence(Don't ask me how they hand out those professor positions!).

Trying to explain that their way of viewing things and make steps in convincing them takes 2 things: i) they are able to make a good conversation{both listening and talking parts of it} and ii)you both have LOTS of time.
    No good for forums :p

Either way, it'd be one hell of epic win if he turned out to be a troll.

He is either a troll or an idiot. Either way, I find him entertaining. The funniest part of this particular thread to me is that yesterday he posted a thread that he stated would be his "last". The fact that he couldn't contain himself for more than 24 is rather sad. Oh, and his theories make absolutely no sense, but I dislike stating the obvious.

@ Kayhoff: It's a shame 10Neon had to go clean up all of the bashing posts in that thread. All it'll do is inflate AtlasMeCH's ego, like all of his stupid posts have been vindicated, and we're all mean and wrong in telling him how little sense all of his posts make.

Unless there was a deleted thread that I was lucky enough to miss, he's actually kept to his word on not making any new ones, though he's still posting in his "last" thread. In all likelihood he'll lurk for a few weeks, then post a thread stating that because 2+3=5, Zerg should be able to produce Marines from Evolution Chambers.
