I run Starcraft and Starcraft: Brood War fine on my Vista, and I didn't have to do anything besides put in the CD and install.

not trying to flame here but
vista should be able to play the games i played on XP cause my OLD XP system had 256MB RAM, and 1.6GHz processor and my vista comp has 3GB RAM and 2.2GHz DUAL CORE processor.

and i don't believe Counter Strike or Condition Zero is crappy...

    Edit-
and my icon is someone from an Anime/Game whos eating noodles >.<

I have Vista and so far I like it.

The only things that I don't like about it are that shut down isn't bound to U in the start menu so I have to use the mouse to turn it off (minor annoyance)
The UAC can't have exceptions like a firewall can (not an annoyance once it's off)
and my LAN card doesn't have 64-bit drivers (Major annoyance, Linksys's fault.)

One thing I wish though, is if OS X were sold at retail, so you could put it on a PC. I don't mind OS X, but I can't stand the computers (or the prices of them) that it comes on.

they are still making XP for atleast another 6 months. According to news with Microsoft.

XP is my prefered, since I have the most knowledge base around XP. Vista.. is new and things are in different places with different names, but ive heard it isnt nearly as bad as OS bashers make it to be. I wouldnt mind Vista, but since I have a 5G XP unlimited use key.. XP will be my OS for quite some time.

O and I WOULD use Mac, since its more secure(because its only about 9% of the market) and ive heard easier to use once learned. But Mac's are overpriced and you can get what a Mac offers at 1500+ for the same a PC offers for 500+. (laptops ofcourse, Mac Desktop is instant /fail)

I was trying to install Linux onto an old PC I have (K6, very ancient) just to check it out, but aparently Linux doesn't liker me. In this day in age of multi-core 64-bit processors, finding a distro for the K6 is slow going, and X refuses to work on this PC.

    It makes me sad

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-xp/future.aspx They will still support it knowing its one of their best OS's, I was one of those people scared of Vista but now that I have it, it is really good, people say Vista is a memory hog which may be true but that is why most computer specs have doubled  I would like to use Macs too but of course the main thing is the price so I will stick to burrowing friends :p
