With Terran? Wall yourself in with depots, with Marines and Bunkers behind. The Bunker is a little bigger and tougher now. And if you still don't make it, get a Planetary Fortress.

Firebats are fine. Now that they are beefed up, they will be more important later on.

Yes they will be more important, they are good for early games in SC and now i think its a good idea that they put Firebats in Factory, if they put it into the Barracks then there would be so many choices, so it would be easier now since the Cobra is scrapped

Vultures are a bad ass unit to start with, those mines can be your salvation or your doom, its very skill dependant.

I dont mind firebats from the factory as long as they are powerful enough.

Im more concerned how the viking ground form will be used when we have firebats from the factory.

i don't think we should complain untill blizzard makes the firebat on the website (as they did with the marine, the viking, the nomad etc) we dont know that much, karune may be messing with us (blizzard does pull a good joke here and there , remember the wisps april fools day joke?)

Instead of going WOOSH WOOOSHH, it should be more like FWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSHHHHHHHH... Until the enemeies are dead, or the firebat is dead. And it could do like X damage per second, depending on if light or heavy.

Makes sense. With the way it hits many units, that woud make it much more usefull. And I would love to see Firebats take on a larger role than in the first game, they're a great concept.

It will most likely have Stim, don't worry.

@Indigent. That might actually happen, lucky you. ;) When the screenshot with the Firebats were taken, they attacked like in SC1, but Blizz said that they are trying out an attack similar to the sweep of a Colossus.

Anyone know the range of the firebat? I know in SC1 it had a slightly farther range than normal melee units.

Looks more like two range. It has farther range.

It had two range in SC. Maybe like 4 range this time? The farther out the flames travel, the less damage, they do?

I thought they had only one range. Archons had two range didn't they?

No. Firebat had two range. They were only good in DS because of their splash. Without it, they'd be another melee unit. Archons had two range as well. I don't understand why they missed in DS, though Firebat didn't miss, so why archons?

Probably because of balance. Zealots were already effective enough against DS.
