That would easily kill a whole infantry squad, if they are near eachother. I can't imagine a tactic countering it..

MAXIMUM Spread of 2 units from one unit to another... And the fire just stays on the ground for like 5 or 3 seconds (Imagine Warcraft.. THE FIRE!!! How does it work! similar to that.)

Well, maybe it would be like irradiate. Only a little slower damage and not last not as long and less affective..

Indigent have you played Warcraft III or Tft and used a fire spell.... Like the ground is burning and who ever touches gets affected I'm talking about something similar to that.

Not really, but I was thinking the same thing, only except zerglings would be obliterated at the same time, support or no support. If it only spreads to two units, those two units would still spread to two other units and so on. With irradiate, you would just pull the unit out of the way.

Hey when units are on fire, they should be harder to control, and if enemy units are near by they will go crazy and attack it (Extra attack like +1), basically berzerking because it is on flames. This suggestion is more for Zerg Melee units!

I like all the ideas for the firebats but i have a suggestion. Why dont the have the original look from sc1 smaller and then connect the new firebat to the marine life upgrade so when u upgrade them there in-game animation changes to look like the new firebat with more life and 1 more point in armor. I'm saying this only because the terrans still need an early anti zergling defence and protoss zealot ass whoopers. So why not make there new form a part of the marine shield upgrade? or give them there own dang upgrade?

If you dont get what i'm saying it would be like the trolls on warcraft. but there upgrade would be at tier 2 or tier 2.5

Emm, I think they have changed it again, so the firebat is built from the barracks. (that was the last I heard) but I would be happy if they put back the Merch Heaven in the game..

It sounds like you are talking about Reapers, Hunter. They are the ones that were recently moved to the rax while keeping the Merc Haven as a prerequisite building.

i think its, frankly, pretty stupid to have the firebat be such high tech
they made the unit so that it was a tier one or two killer but currently it is very late tier 2
it will probably be used for like 5% of the game during the transition between the tier 2 and tier 3
plus the character model just looks bad

Then change the firebat's role. Or just beef it up. Which is what Blizzard did. It can probably hold up to a few shots. It would devestate all infantry, which a lot of people use thruoghout the whole game. SOme people use only infantry the whole game. Firebat is the infantry counter. And unless it needs a tech lab to be built, it's more like tier 1.5, because factory is directly after barrakcs

using infantry the whole game isn't smart though
using combinations is good like a siege tank, viking, marine medic army would work well

Yeah. And then an army with a few firebats would work well too. I guess it really depends on what It's good against and how much damage it does to those it's not good against.

starcraft2 is now more about variety so i think that people are going to rely on getting tier one units in tier three
so then im not so weird anymore

Firebats will be extremely useful I think. In that interview with Karune he said they pack quite a punch.

My only concern is how I'm going to survive the zealot rushes without them.
