I don't think mechs are that affective against other mechs or machines. Only good for killing tiny little things. For example, the stupid mechs they used in the last stand for Zion. Those idiots got pulverized. Those sentinels have terrible AIs. There were like well over a couple hundred of them but thousands of sentinels coming out at a time.

You mean that you thought the fire bats were now mechs? No they are still in armor only except it is bigger now.

Well Mechwarrior did because Battletech had a few melee weapons.

Yes in the tabletop game you can actually bludgeon a machine

some mechs actually would need hands. Imagine a 4 ton volkswagon smashing in your face at 80 mph sounds a lot more painful then the good old pee wee turrets doesn't it.

    zomg 100th post =O

i believe the 99999999999 mph would break the time barrier and would go back in time killing lots of innocent men and women. 8)

How would you go BACK in time? Do you shoot the bullets backwards? And shouldn't they go into the future causing aliens and humans to go to war without a knowing who struck first?

To try and get this thread back on topic while stating my opinion about the Firebat here is my thoughts on the subject. I personally like the idea of the Firebat returning in its new factory form becuase it does help shore up one of the Terran's earlier game weaknesses and in its new form with more health and armor it, along with the removal of concussion damage the Firebat will be able to preform its role alot better without becoming obsolete like it did in SC1. The thing I dislike is the same thing everyone else dislikes and that is the fact the Viking was moved to the starport. So I guess an interesting would become is there anything wrong with 4 units in the factory?

I play as Terran alot, and i never really felt the need for the Firebat to be used past tier 1 or if at all, even in the campaign i hardly ever used it

I would much rather have the Firebat back to the barracks or taken out completely and giving the Terran a whole new ground to ground unit

That is only one of the options, if the Firebat is taken out of Campaign completely I want it to be available in map making

I guess I have to accept that the Viking will not be returning...*sigh*

This is an excellent point. Once you were able to make goliaths and tanks, the Firebat seems somewhat useless. The marrines, with upgrades and all still served as excellent cannon fodder however.

No doubt the Firebat will be upgraded quite a bit and will serve a new purpose though....

    But, Blizzard, for the record:
I am all for removing the Firebat and bringing the Viking to back the Factory!
