The Marine Shield

yea but the armor just makes more sense.

 

adding more armor would only make sense if the entire armor of the marine was upgraded (such as through an armor upgrade...)

 

why not have a new frontline unit with a sheild? that will stop the arguments

 

nah. shield is awesome. i like the marine+shield a lot more than the regular one. it adds spice

 

i like the plain marine better but it isn't THAT bad with the shield. Plus adding HP is better than doing some armor bonus or some stupid ability.

 

Yeah giving marines defend or something similar would be really dumb, like Artanis said, this is not Warcraft in Space!!

 

Shields make perfect sense, they don't have infinite marines to send off and die, the longer their marines survive, the happier the emperor/dictator/UED dude/whatever it is now will be.

 

I don't think shields make perfect sense, nothing makes perfect sense because there is always something better that they haven't thought of yet. I still see shields just as an excuse to add a bonus to marines. Something more original could probably be added.

Though it is true, there are not infinite marines. But, if they really wanted them to live longer then the Terran could probably give their marines more than just a big hunk of metal take into battle.

 

Okay since blizzard said that the shield is an upgrade, i'm thinking so why add a shield why not have no visable difference, like with the armor upgrade.

 

Alright seriously...lets get over the shield. 1) It's an upgrade, be happy with it, 2) If you don't want the shield so much, don't upgrade, 3) You'll probably forget all about it the second you start playing

I like the shields... the Marine unit graphic in SC1 looked flimsy besides the bulking shoulderpads.

 

I think shields should stay away from terran >.<

zerglings now carry a hulking medieval mace becouse people don't want them to be disposable.
