The Marauder

Also, if the Marauder's arms swing while they're walking, hopefully it won't be reminiscent of the Infested Terran. I have faith that Blizzard will make it stand and move naturally before the game's released. If not, mods for the win!

 

With the gigantic arms, it should walk like a thor but remain somewhat the same speed as a marine. Just so your M&M&M plan doesn't screw up.

 

The marauder went through slight changes and we also got a nice shot of it in the latest batch of screenshots:


After clearing up the smoke a bit and enlarging the screen, we can see how the model is now bulkier and more menacing:


I didn't like the concept or the design of the marauder right from the start but this 'minimech' design looks quite nice

Is it just me or does it look a lot like that one villain from Iron Man (forgot his name)?

at 150 hp i say we just keep this damn unit. After watching the video of terrans vs zerg i dont mind this unit at all. Now watching the guy play Terrens in that match he could of defended himself way better but in those smaller ally ways i can see the marauder coming in handy. I like this unit

I like the old model better =( Looked more menacing, but also smaller, like how an infantry class unit should be. These new guys are huge, and blockier.

 

lol they remind me of some of the old badguys from the megaman series lol (sorry i cantr find any pics)

 

i read on Starcraft Wikia that the marauder has been given a AoE attack again, or is this only for the slowing effect

can anyone confirm?

Dude... For your own sake, I hope you're joking. They're the Tauren Marines, an April Fools joke. However Marauders can be seen in amongst the last screenshot.

 

sorry that the answer to this is a month late, but they do have a very small aoe, the slow effect does not have aoe tho.

 

the marauders are the little guys with jetpacks with dual pistols, pretty sure thats the firebat replacement.

edit: my mistake thats not them... interesting,,, 3 infantry types...

 

Ya, your thinking of reapers. Marauders are the firebat replacement though if I remember correctly. They are the really tall Terran infantry.

 

aren't marauders those bulky units seen in the video where a noob terran plays versus a noob zerg and keeps creating a bulky slow moving unit from the barrack and sending it in? If not, what unit is that? its bigger than a marine and its not a reaper cause it walks slow.

 

I think the unit your talking about is the thor which is the giant walking mech unit which are anti air. But i guess the only other unit which looks like them is the infantry sized marauder so you might be right. If it had massive cannnons on its back however it is definately a thor.

 

Definitely the Marauder since the Thor never been available at the Barracks.

 

Kind of hard to miss a Thor lol, things bigger than buildings. I can't wait to use the marauder though, he seems so diesal; little walking tank.
