Ehh, maybe all coincidence? The only thing that bothers me are in the screenshots why do the marines have shields? (srry if this was stated in another topic, but im new to the forums)

It's an upgrade. Look at the marines on the colossus page on starcraft.com, they don't have shields.

Well they're taking their time to update because they want to spread it out. While here we have stuff like the PC gamer magazine scans.

yeah well none of the units are final, so I am assuming that only the ones that are on blizzard site are official?

This is true. Also, we should point out a difference between confirmed and final.
Final is final and will go at least as far as the beta and is on blizzards site.
Confirmed may make it to the beta and may not but it has been confirmed as a unit that is at this point in StarCraft 2.

It is not 17 confiremd units.. The Phase cannon is a bulding so now we are down to 16.

The reapers remind me of the Jump Jet infantry in C&C Tiberium Sun.

Anyway; don't forget about the stalkers. They can tele up the cliffs.

I can't remember where they said that, but I've always had the impression that they meant that there were gonna be the (approx) same amount of units present in an army/on the map. AKA that they were going to preserve the same scale of combat as in sc.

But since I lack the source, I can't really confirm my thoughts so not too sure about this .

you have it right Xen, blizzard said that there would be about the same amount as in sc1, they never said that there would be exactly the same. i dont know why it became such a popular misquote

I read in one of the interviews that there would be a few more units per race. I don't remember which one though.

No, seriously, it would be nice if there were more units, although if there were more than 17 (excluding probes) it would be kinda overwhelming. Same goes for other races.

But it would still be really nice to have more, so you can really diversify your tactics.

A few forums/websites (nothing confirmed) says the probe can hover and thus is immune to small cliffs, I hope it's not true --_-.

Hmm... Yeah, me neither. I think they're also exaggerating a bit, with the relocationable phase cannon.

the probe always hovered, but that doesnt mean it can jump up cliffs lols
