Work well with what role exactly? It's GtA + a kind of tanker, where does the Drop Pod fit into that? I am not completely dismissing the idea, I just don't see how giving a GtA unit Droppod is due to its role. That's like more random than that time Blizzard gave the Phoenix Anti Gravity.

    crosspost from dark templar topic?

I don't think the drop pod would work with the thor that much, it wouldn't be very insertion type. Perhaps it could as it adds support for the thor but i'm not too convinced.

You could just copy it into the right thread and delete it :)

What happens if you anti grav and area and the droppod lands there will the pod get destroy/stop or will it crash *aka* *makes no sense* and come out then float.

I don't understand. The anti gravity ability is not pointed at an area but a hostile unit or building, making it temporarily airborn as well as paralyzing both the Phoenix and the target.

I don't think you could target the drop pod. It worked like a missile.

Anti-Gravity is probably targeted, so it wouldn't work.

nope, the last we heard of them was when(and why) they were taken out of the game.

I want them in multiplayer! Come on, Terrans don't have instant unit transport abilities! Give the drop pods to another unit, like the Reapers! They have nothing else apparently. It can be a late game unlocked ability. Drop pods would balance out against Zerg Nydus Canals and Protoss warp abilities!

The Terran where already very mobile to begin with (also there structures seem to move a lot faster now) and with the addition of the medic drop ships, it just meens you will have more of them around to move your troops with.

The drop ship will be in single player only and i don't think blizz is going to be putting it back in multiplayer.

mmm.... drop pods would be so cool if they could kill guys when they hit the ground. too bad blizz got rid of them, they had a lot of potential.

With the exception of the Thor, the Terrans already look pretty freaking mobile, I wouldn't worry about it.

I think we do know, and the answer is no. The Beta is coming, and people need to get over some things, such as Drop Pods and Medivacs. They are not gonna get thrown in/out the last minute.

"Make my race better! Make my race better!"

It's more about balance than what you want or think would make it easier for you. A key driving mechanic of the Starcraft series is races that all have to do things differently.

Also I think the nydus worm was scrapped so atm Protoss are the only ones with instant transport. Though if you think about it you still have to move that mobile pylon around the map so it's not really "instant".

well, it was kinda unfair considering that you could do it on the egde of another persons base i found that nudus canals were really good when you want to mass units to a area.

Lolwut? Nydus Worms are still in the game. They are not mobile atm though. They are like Nydus Canals only they are summoned by Overseers.
