How about taking idea from Quake 4 and 2 (check it out on youtube if you don't know what I'm talking about)? The single unit drop pods. Pods could rain down like an artillery barrage dealing damage to an area then marines come out.

Sounds OP, but nice visually, haha.
    Is that too CnC? :p

Or even better. Give ability to the banshees. Each one will house one. Then fires the drop pod. Giving the banshees some support.

that doesn't make it any different from a drop ship though.

Don't make it so the Banshee holds drop pods, just calls them down.

I say replace emp with drop-pods. The emp isn't very helpfull. It's good against other terran, and a few protoss. But it's pointless aganist the zerg. Drop-pods would help in balancing Warp-in, and the zerg worms. Drop-pods are more helpfull than emp. Anyways the protoss should have alrighty some type of emp jamming.

hahha wow i never thought i'll hear the word emp isn't useful here....
just because its pointless against a certain race does it necessary mean u have to scrap it? I mean take the infestor for example. Its infesting ability only works against terran so should we just rid of that skill? No.
Also actually emp is much more effective than a "few" protoss. Sometimes its used against them in a way which it can turn the tide of battle. E.g against a group of archons or high templars.

the Ghost has EMP, which right now seems to go along with its Anti-caster role, with if you cant snipe them to death, them EMP them to disable their use for a while.

Doesn't the EMP take out the shields for the protoss as well? Or am I just making that up?

yeah it does, it'll be really useful for targeting archons even without the shockwave.

Hm, and what of making droppods like an upgrade for a bunker ? U build a bunker and upgrade it to a drop pod, then load it with marines ghost marks target and whoosh there goes a droppod just like a nuke :D with a little time lag (u could see that it goes up and then drops down :D) afterwards u could recreate the pod for moderate cost :D Dropships are nice and all, but sometimes its much easier to sneak a ghost or two inside than full dropship :p

I actually don't see it as useful as it would've been in earlier versions of starcarft2, Terran previously had a greater focus on infantry with Medics and firebats, imagine dropping 8 medics on your front lines when the enemies just microed your medics away :D.

Well it's pretty hard to create a whole game without copying a bit from other games.

what vampire said, nowadays its almost impossible to create a game with things that isnt being used by something else.

Originality died a while ago, so everything is pretty much ripping off everything.
