I like shiny terrans, they look new and futuristic and cool. Why would I want them to be looking like trash?

I am not sure, but some people just want them to look gritty, for various reasons. If you can't find a reason, vote for "shiny".

    Degrade gradually

And I'll vote on degrade gradually.

I like the idea of the units being shiney when they are first built then getting dirty over time. Perhaps have units show signs of battle damage even after being fully repaired

A new option have been added, "degrade gradually". It's sort of a dynamic where structures and vehicles gets "grittier" the longer they have been out on the battlefield, or the less hp they have (I am not adding sub-options for those two) .

Any suggestions on what to do?

That leads to another topic, degradable unit look. It can also be applied to lets say burning battlecruisers when they're low on hp.

    You should reset votes.

Or, as you said, it could be different topics/polls. I should just remove the option, because this poll is about wether or not you want them to look more gritty all the time or not.

Gritty. Definately, they look more toon-ish than in SC1/BW.

They need to look gritty, but they're shiny. I don't like that.

    Definitely gritty.

Terrans should resemble something like this:
    http://www.starcraft2.com/screenshot.xml?s=51

This is the definition of a dark and gritty theme and it suits perfectly for the Terrans.

On the other hand, I don't want the whole game of SC2 to become a dark and gritty themed game. It's just that Terran suits the gritty theme.

Protoss on the other hand, should have the shiny theme. They are a technological advanced species that relies on Psi. They should look shiny and new.

Zergs however, should look slimy. Which means, the theme for the Zergs should be even darker then the Terrans.

Shiy, like the original structures. However as we are in a war and so that inevitably the structures are damaged by the battles, every structures should get some original damages once built.

Zergs, slimy? I don't think so... They are not amphibions, they live on harsh rocky worlds being slimy wouldn't fit into their lore. Zerg are tough and numerous. I can understand why you'd say slimy with the whole mutations, hatching from eggs stuff but I see them as hard, tough, fleshy, scaly, spiky creatures.
But on Zerg design I think certain units should get certain colour markings as in the wild a poisonous creature would be brightly coloured or have some kinda visual warning. But seem as though they were created this wouldn't apply so yea...
Zergs should look battle hardened with scars and stuff.

Well what if buildings and units could accumulate grit over time :p

Who's mind just got blown cause I just blew mine by just thinking about this. Probably should be a topic of itself.

I believe it is not a matter of : How I would like Terrans to look?. This is definitely a matter of : How Terrans WOULD look.
I mean, how would you look if you were in constant war, living as a refugee in every planet you visit, with scarce resources? ..
Yup, the answer is Gritty. Gritty as hell.

The terran make buildings out of crystal and gas, so it should look shiny!
