Yeah but perhaps the AoE will be limited (for balance, we do not want a unit with 5 damage do we) because the unit don't seems costly (a bit like the vulture). Perhaps it will be limited in the way that it maximum can hit 5 targets... or the AoE isn't so long (perhaps half of the lurker)

Kaaraa, 2 hours after the Question and Answer batch, there was posted a post on battle.net with this title: Remove the Jackal. Could stop thinking about it when you mentioned ItzaHexGor´s post about Terran GtG

 

I accually really like this unit... The name also is awesome.
The fact that it can attack in a like is pretty sweet, and i can see how it can be very microable (getting the whole mineral line). Just one question. If the jackal was on a ledge and fired downwards, would it still keep it's line damage?

 

Hopefully, I really like this unit, and I don't think it will replace the lurker, because of the difference between their two attacks. If it does replace the lurker however I will be PISSED, because the lurker was unique and cool looking unit.

 

*sniff* I miss the cobra...I was going to own face with it.

 

Jackal looks pretty good, I am very pleased with the model. The attack should look crazy when it is finished (Picture flames splashing off a Stalker)

A bit funny that i said it would be like a vulture, and know it is!

 

Karune implied that the flames are just a placeholder animation (go read the thread about the Q&A on BattleNet) and so is the animation for the nullifier. That's also why the gun doesn't turn, it's still in development.

i like them hoverin. more hardcore scifi and futuristic.

 

They don't hover. In the screenshot with them you can clearly see three wheels.

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought he meant that he likes that they're hovering.
It hardly matters, a hover feature is just something else that can go wrong. Apart from SCV's, I don't think the Terran have anything that hovers any more. The Cobra used to, but it's been cut. The Vulture also used to, but it's been discontinued. Siege Tanks use tracks, Jackals have wheels, Vikings and Thors walk. I reckon that hovering is more of an alienesque motif, anyway. The Terran should be practical and not worry about flashy accessories.

 

I wanna know how it will turn fast tho cuz it seems very stiff right now. Maybe the wheel shaft thing will turn?

 

I guess that the front wheel might be able to turn, but the two pieces holding the axle would have to shift to allow for that.

I just hope it doesn't move like the Cobra, the way the Cobra moved was disgusting.

 

so hoverin is flashy now. why is it everyone wants the terran to be as low tech as possible. come on! hover vehicles is not really that grand or anything.
