    The only thing I noticed, at the start especially, the units will sit and "wait" for the patch to open up to mine from, hence the need to split early game. If SCII fixes this, epic win.

    I'm pretty sure it will fix that issue.

    I've played with Auto mine and I must say it isn't that bad, all it does it allow you to focus on other things instead of switching back to the base while in a battle, leavning your self open for some type of ambush or something, simply allows us to put our APM to much more worthwhile things than clicking one worker to mine, which in the big picture is important but other things require more attention.

    Have you tried it and how did you fnid it?

    I thought the auto-mine only happened after setting the rally point to the mineral cluster. Is it confirmed that the worker units auto-split when you tell them all to mine a single cluster? That would be useful, not just for the start of the game but for transferring workers from one base to another.

    I like the chang to 6

    I believe there are only rare cases when you did something useful before you had 6 mining units (maybe a 5 pool). I think this change will shave off the first 30 seconds of the game where much was not done and lead into quick excitment!

    So the 5 and 6 worker maps didn't work. Reopening the race for the FIRST PERSON TO GIVE ME A WORKING COPY of a map with 5 and 6 workers starting for each player.

    Two maps

    One, start w/ 5 workers.

    One, start w/ 6 workers.

    GO!

    How can they not work, I tested them with MarineCorp.

    What is the problem so I can fix it...

    When I loaded the maps, no matter what happened, my base would explode, while the other guy would be fine. I also seem to remember only having 4 peons, but I went into the map and fixed that, but then the game would still kill a player on startup.

    I made a 6 player version of LT, which I posted a page back, I'll work on the 6\5 player version.

    *EDIT* here we go. No fancy triggers, just 3 Forces for whatever race you feel like being.

    The problem was there were only 4 workers and one player died 3 seconds into the match. LOL

    Was it the Terran player?
    As me and MarineCorp tested it on Protoss and Zerg.

    Red and blue definitly works without a doubt, but try these:

    Edit: OMG, I realize what mistake you made, you're supposed to play it on Use Map Settings :|

    Lol Psi, it's hard to play that map and have your base explode on Melee.

    I did not remember it so hard to create a normal match with only a difference in starting unit...

    It rightly wasn't too bad, as I did it if you look a few posts up. I just took Lost Temple and put specific races in specific spots with the extra units. I know, it takes away from the scouting/random thing, but it was only just a test, and when I played it, it seemed not so bad. MUCH faster starts, obviously, and the Zerg had a little bit of a tough time holding off the early attacks, but it worked out in the end. I really want to do more playing with it.

    Don't get bitter, sir! I was just letting you know what the problem was. I just, to be honest, didn't see the point of having a map with all those fancy triggers, just more of a chance for something to explode, so to speak.

    I did when I made this. It supports random locations and random race's. Just on Blizzards Lost Temple but I should be able to easily turn any 4 player (or less) map into a 6 worker start map.

    Someone, considering bases randomly exploded. Unless Blizzard got sneaky and included that in the game without me knowing :p
