The transition from SC1 to SC2 won't be so huge. However, they made the game play much easier, since macro/micro management is down due to mutliple buildings can be hotkeyed to one and how the units move in a formation now instead in a line. That's so much less macro/micro that it shouldn't be much of a problem to "transition". The only main concern for pros, is coming up with standard builds and appropriate counter armies due to the new units and how they would work. Once they get a feel for it , and balancing is finished after the 2nd expansion is completed, I'm sure StarLeague will move on into SC II.

macro/micromanagement isn't down, it's up. they just removed the mundane crap that even noobs figure out (oooh, wow, building from MULTIPLE buildings!) and added more micro at the upper level- it seems like there's more spells/abilities for units. for macro, there's now destructible terrain, high-yield minerals, vision-blocking terrain, etc. so taking the right terrain and fast expansions are even more important.

well you have to admit, that noobs cant' easily macro up units in a non money map easily, and some noobs tend to waste stuff like multiple storms in one area. Also noobs including myself get lazily and let my unit run in a straight line to die, instead of doing diagonal movements to set up a formation to make units move in as a group and etc.

I agree, micro in cases is and up and in some down.

and im sure the StarLeague will moving into SC2 when they feel they are ready and the players have had enough time playing it to the best of there ability.
