@ Meee. Sorry, I thought you meant the model. There may be a secret level in the Campaign or something, but most secret missions so far have been to detail the storyline. There haven't been many, if any, funny or jocular ones. We have seen crossovers like the Butcher and the Hydralisk in WarCraftIII, but that's more of a light-weight game anyway.
@ zeratul11. They're not going to change the normal Marine model based on the Tauren Marine. It's just a prank. It'd be like saying that World of WarCraft characters can now have musical instruments as weapons because it looked so awesome in the April Fools Day prank. Obviously the Marine models are still subject to change, but it's not going to be because of this. I wouldn't base anything that that genuinely relates to StarCraft2 on this. Also, Marine're probably as big as they're going to get. They're just supposed to be normal infantry, nothing flashy. If they increase the size or bulkiness of the Marine then they'd have to increase the size and bulkiness of the Zealot, Marauder, etc, etc, so on and so forth. If you want bigger Marines, you can just zoom in while you're playing.

i did not say the marine should get an increase in size same as the tauren marine. NO! i said that it would be nice if the marine gets similar HQ details the tauren marine have in his armor or plating, the polygon count, sharpness of the unit and so on. bcoz obviously the tauren marine got lots of amazing details...up close.

and how come being big is flashy. OMG! i want starcraft 2 to be a combination of realistic and artistic sci fi. ok. i dont want it to look like and feel like all other realistic rts outhere.

The Marine already has quality detail, all units do, so I don't know what you're really trying to say here. They haven't put a whole heap of effort in trying to make the Tauren Marine as detailed as possible, they've just made it like a regular unit. That is regular as in a regular level of detail, because it's definitely not a regular unit...
Also, I didn't mean flashy as in all showy and impressive, I meant more as a figure of speech.

If you haven't seen a close up of the Marine in-game, then what are you comparing the Tauren Marine to? You keep saying that it and its armour look better, but what is it better than if you haven't seen a proper close up of the Marine?
Here is a fairly close up image of the Marine, but I think the model has definitely changed a bit since then. Changes aside, you can't seriously look me in the face and say that's not detailed.
Also, these April Fools jokes contradict each other and themselves. The Tauren Marines can't be fighting normal Marines if they've replaced them. Also, in the Molten Core 'game' it excludes the 'Bard hero class' from its list of choices, but includes the Death Knight.

It doesn't directly say that they've replaced marines, the statement "and have managed to horn in on the roles traditionally filled by firebats and other infantry units" isn't clear to me, but I think that they fight alongside marines.

Just think of it, how many Tauren did they manage to take from Azeroth? Enough to replace all marines? Didn't think so. Also it's Confederacy that took Tauren, what about other factions? Don't you think they would still use marines?
I don't see any contradiction here.

And how does not including Bard into an expansion to a joke game contradict anything? If the game was real it wouldn't even be out yet, not to mention an expansion. Everything is subject to change, right?

They are the same models but since the Tauren is bigger it allows more detail and rendering to be added.

On the StarCraft2 website where there's the menu to choose all different Terran units, the Tauren Marine has replaced the Marine. All the other units are in the exact same place except for Marine, where they have the Tauren Marine instead.
With the Molten Core and the Bard, the Molten Core says that it has all the current classes, and the new Wrath of the Lich King class, being the Death Knight. Going by their other prank, the Bard is another Wrath of the Lich King class, so there should actually be two additional Wrath of the Lich King units for Molten Core. I'm not complaining, I'm just pointing out some findings.

you know what. that is the exact portrait im comparing the tauren marine with. well obviously the tauren marine looks BETTER, just take a look at the lining on the armor plating and all other details, even the polygon count.

that marine portrait was like many months ago, obviously they have improved the graphics now already and thats why the tauren marine looks more detail and sharp and smooth etc... get my point. im just saying that terran marine should get a new better look similar to the tauren marine. whats wrong with that. xp

Haha, the thing that's wrong with it is that the Tauren Marine is covered in Horde crests and stuff like "Mad Cow", etc. The general detail, barring all the logos, totems and axes, are pretty similar. It could do with a remodelling, but then again, all units could.

I bet this will be in the map editor, like the Zergling and Hyrdalisk and marine and orc marine were.
    That'll be fun.

BTW anyone know if they will be available in the map editor (they made the effort rendering them and everything) cause that would be so awesome.

No one knows for sure, but we're pretty certain that they will be there, along with axed units and possibly another space orc (Nelf?)

Perhaps they will replace the Carrier with a Goblin Zeppelin now? ;)

The model looks nice, I like the blade thing on the rifle that the Tauren is carrying. Maybe they should add it (with some remodeling of course, it looks to Protoss-like at the moment) to the Marine as a close combat weapon? I can imagine that a Marine can't properly fire it's gun in the middle of a bunch of Zerglings, so they would have to cut their way out.

Even if it would only be an addition to make it look better and not actually let it do anything, a blade would certainly be a great addition to the overall look of the Marine. Just think of those marines in Gears of War, those chainsaws look awesome... Any opinions?
