Yeah but i really like an early caster (tier 1 :D), and that protoss has so many casters, that really sounds special.

Transferring energy and having early casters will make protoss a race with a little more micro it seems like.

Nullifiers sounds very nice. I can't wait for this " null void" ability. Sounds like some sort of vacuum of dark energy that slows or disables units caught in it. Almost like a nerfed Black Hole for the ground. On the model, I can definitely see it being a Dark Protoss design...

The whole thing on the Protoss death makes me happy and sad at the same time. I'm glad that they all get to live and get transported out so they can go to Protoss retirement home/ get Dragooned/ die with their families( if that exists for Protoss). However, I thought that death animation of their energy dissipating was a cool and honorable way to die.

O well, whatever floats Blizzard's boats...

    Agreed

I like the new name for the Stasis Orbs. Much better and more protossy, but whats up with the forcefield? I though that was an HT abilty. I would still like the Star Relic back though.

    What a great new Q & A!

I can't wait to see the Protoss Nullifier's Null Void ability in action. Maybe it is like a weaker black hole (as Shadow Templar and others alluded) or some sort of energy-drain ability. I also really like the unit's new name. Nullifier. Sounds sweet.

The transferring energy thing is another great new mechanic for the Protoss that further separates them from the other two races. Oh the chaos that will reign with one Psionic storm after another...

The death lore makes a lot of sense. The only part I don't really get is the 'choice' of going to the Khala or remaining in an Immortal. Why would a Protoss choose to fully 'die' rather than keep serving in an Immortal? I also don't think it would make sense if every Protoss got this choice; I'm sure some have to be wounded so badly that they don't make it (think Nuke, shot/claw through the head, etc.).

Definitely one of the best Q & A's yet.

Death in battle is more honorable and thus desireable.

Yes, remember Zeratuls (or was it Tassadar? (man I should play those missions again)) reaction when he first sees Fenix as a Dragoon.

Is there a screenshot of the Force Field ability? I don't remember it. And can someone explain this ability?

Force field basically is the new and improved Stasis, and it used to be cast by High Templars. Pretty much it can be used to block choke points, divide troops, or even temporarily incapacitate a building.

A screen shot can be found here.

It is not stasis, it is "just" a roadblock. Like artificial temporary elevated terrain.

We should ask them about weapons technology next because I still want to know how DT's cloak their blades.

Even if the stasis orb is a road block, it is a road block that you can use however you feel like using. I personally am looking forward to using this new tier 1 unit with my army.

However, I'm going to need to get my microing skills better if I want to use them at the best times as well as blinking stalkers behind them.

Also, he mentioned he was playing against a zerg opponent. Could this mean that the zerg build is nearing completion? If so, I'm looking forward to seeing what new units and buildings they poses.

hehe wouldnt it be fun to get enough of them to box in a zergling rush and then use colossus's outside of it to burn them all to bits.

If they 'zergling rushed' me, and I already had colossi, they didn't do a very good job of rushing me, lol.

This will be a very nice unit since practically all late tier protoss units are ranged.

yeah could be nice to surround your army in it, also would be cool for a stalker raid, just blink in there drop the nullifier and surround the stalkers in a shield while you rip away there economy and the rest of there force.

@ Unentschieden - I called the force field a new and improved stasis because while it is a roadblock/phantom terrain, one can actually cast it directly on a building (maybe even a unit too) to freeze it. Blizzard specifically mentioned at some point using it to render a Bunker temporarily useless.

"The Nullifier has a new aesthetic appearance different from the Stasis Orb. "

    Karune
RTS Community Manager | Blizzard Entertainment

aesthetic eh?..i betcha it will look hot =]

    Q u o t e:
"And what if force field is casted on some ground units? Would it work like stasis field by immboilizing and making them invulnerable?
Or maybe just trapping them instde the field? Pls answer Karune, this is an important question. "

    Karune:
"Currently, units below the Force Field will not be immobilized. When they exit from one side of the Force Field, they will not be able to cross back through the Force Field."

    Q u o t e:
"Can the force fields be attacked and destroyed before 15 sec? If so, how much hp do they have? "

    Karune:
"Force Fields are invulnerable for their casted duration.
    "

i think that the Nulifier can be killed if the enemy have ranged units (duh lol)...for example, if terran rushes in with marines and medics, the marines can kill off the Nulifiers. im guessing that Nulifiers arent that strong. maybe has as much hp and shield as a stalker?

well...hope this helped some people =]
