TY Unentschieden Well freakin Said, Losing one unit in this game wont hert you. Unless its single player and ur hero just got pwned. Stop asking for too much because if you presure blizzard into giving you every thing your not ganna stay intrested in the game. you'll say this isnt the same as SC1 and you'll give the game bad reviews and go back to SC1. Stop complaining and about something as little as unit speeds. There set this way for a reason.

Its that plus some though. They are already lowering the difficulty of moving large armies into bases by making them all selectable. Having them move together would be like easy mode. Them running at their own speed is actually more realistic AND it makes the game that much harder. And while hardness isn't necessarily a quality it definitely better then being to easy.

I mean seriously some noob could take tanks and dang marines and send them to your base.

With the idea of having them all form up and be in a formation it means the tanks and marines arrive at same time allowing the tanks to setup while the marines possibly suicide and die but giving the tanks more time for siege mode. Difficulty: Pressing the siege mode button at right time...Easy as crap.

In the way it is now the marines have to be watched so they don't just go in and are cannon fodder and manually brought in at the right time so that the tanks can again set up. Difficulty: Microing units while keeping an eye on unit production, base stuff, and counter-attacks....Medium-Hard(depending on how good you are at it).

I again would rather have the latter then former.

    yes...tru tru!!
i seriously dont want blizzard to implement the "move toghether" group thing...u know..skilled players (like me..rofl!! not really -_-) want this game to have more micro management n stuff..

i guess if your still noob, blizzard should have an option where u can set it to "move togehter"

but yeah...im not calling anyone noob alright..im just saying...

blizzard! GOOD JOB ON YOUR WORK!!!! =D

I know what you mean. But with many other PC games adding this feature, even ones made years ago, it was surprising to me that all units moviang at the same speed wasn't added into sc2.

more NEW units? nows thats what im talking about. yah replace the reapers pistols with something else. lol

i think the cinematics will be like this.. 5 cinematic cutscenes for each race (middle of campaign).. and 2 HQ cinemtics for each race (opening and ending). im not sure they said that the campaign will not be ordered (race). i hope the thor will make it in the cinematics.

The cinematics kinda have to be super sexy, look at Ghost, and I'm sure they have improved since then. I can't wait!

I mostly agree with those supporting the lack of "slow mode", but one thing. How exactly does it make game more realistic? imo it's only normal that faster units can adjust their speed to slower ones if they wanted to

Blizzard is known for their cinematics - I think we can expect chapter change cinematics like in WC3, meaning they will ditch the "minis" they had in SC.

Blizzard will try to keep SC2 engaging, with additions like automining and the lazy peon button there needs to be a compensation. It immeadiately devalues mass selection, since a-move your whole army WILL fail.

Also, personally I turned off formations in Wc3 anyway - you just have more control.

I think late next summer /beginning of fall. But dosen't next winter sound a little bit too harsh? We have to be a little more optimistic then that don't ya think ;) ?

Anyways concerning the movies, a pre- rendered cinematic including zealots joining in battle is the only thing I ask for ( or some involvement from them atleast). Other then that, feed me whatever

I just hope and pray that they will atleast have a demo before or during summer (open beta would suit me just fine as well)

Yeah I can't wait for the cutscenes!! I wonder if there will be in-game WCIII-ish ones. That would be cool. I liked that method of storytelling. But the cinematics will be awesome as well of course.

Instead of formation movement can't they at least have 'protection' command, like in Age of Empires? I can understand that having drag and click for moving your entire army is pretty cheap, but a having a protect command is pretty micro, and this way you can customize a small force. Like having zealots protecting a slow moving templar, and then some phoenix covering the zealots.

I'm just sort of tired of the whole clustering of the same type of units in command groups and on the screen, it ISN'T realistic, fighting in varied formations is, and could actually require more thought when considering tactics, like what sort of how many number of units should any given group have?

This way you could choose between having one large force, and employing units in one area, or having 5 smaller ones of all the same configuration, being deployed across the map. Different tactics, other than how many, and what kind of units you make and when you use then. Having unified formations, may decrease skill in micro, but it could open up other areas for skill in tactics. And whats more relevant? Mechanical judgement of speed and space in movement, or strategic deployment and decisions concerning unit groupings?

I like your thinking, the formations in Age of Empires did add a lot of strategy into the game. A defend formation would be nice to have and would make people tend to have variety in their armies.

I really hope that one of the terran cutscenes is a news broadcast... Not sure y but when i first saw that on the old SC, it made me feel so good =), it looked realistic and stuff. (especialy that hand in space) and i want them to have many cinematics, i once just used cheats to skip the levels and watch all the cinematics in a movie marathon!!! they were so good. So ya, i am expecting some really good stuff from these!

As for the movemeant, i actualy like it the way it is, though i do sort of agree with eon (stop giving him a hard time please) that it has been corporated in many new RTS systems. But starcraft doesnt need to be like the rest, and i think it is sounding great! give us some micro challenges to overcome, and make us one hell of a game!

I think a neat thing they could do the Ghost EMP is make it a temporary field effect:

EMP goes off, and creates a circle for X amount of time. Anything in that circle has its shield and energy nullified. If it steps outside the area of effect, the shield (and energy?) regains its functionality.

That way, you won't just instantly kill off a protoss fleet. They can maneuver around these EMP areas. Anyone foolishly left behind will take some serious permanent body damage!
    ---------------
I don't think that is too overpowered, do you?

ehhh...that's not really how an EMP works...Electromagnetic PULSE...it basically fries anything not protected, and is only "present" for an instant. So unfortunately your idea isn't a real EMP haha sorry =)

I also hope they do in-mission cutscenes like in WC3...the graphics are certainly going to be nice enough that it wouldn't look cheesy.
